Nikoleta - just Nick to anybody that knew her well enough, thank you - was having another one of those days at the Arms. Clients back in LA were having personal crises left and right, Gunther's order of smoked salmon had been mixed up and he'd gotten a massive crate of canned sardines instead, and for no reason she could possibly put a finger on, the telephone had been replaced with a small cactus, leaving her to try to sort out all of these issues over e-mail.

It wasn't the worst she'd ever dealt with, but it was enough to make her want to give people some scathing looks.

Cade was outside of the bakery enjoying the warmer weather with his green juice and a small placard that read "EAT KALE NOT CARBS". He wasn't judging your lifestyle, everyone, but those doughnuts'll go straight to your thighs.
