Kitty was not having the best day. Or the best month, or the best year, in fact. So today was going to be a leather pants day, because she felt more like a badass in them, and sent a text because she was into proactively making her day better.

At least she was keeping herself from Googling New York rent prices on her phone. Though that would probably quell that "ugh get me out of Fandom" feeling for a while...

The Perk ; Tuesday Afternoon

With his class completed for the semester, Riley actually had some free time that wasn't being consumed by editing his book or making lesson plans. So, it seemed like the perfect time to get out of his apartment and go into town.

Of course, he'd brought a book to read after getting something tall and caffeinated. He was still working hard to not think about the things on Horizon because he didn't want to have some panic attack or end up with nightmares or hallucinations. He wasn't really built for stuff like that. He didn't regret going or helping but still, he was a nerd and that had been...intense.

Riley found a spot near a window and opened up his book, skimming a few paragraphs but mostly just resting and enjoying his drink. He'd already submitted a class for summer so it looked like he was sticking around a little longer.

Hadn't expected that to happen when he'd first arrived. But, he liked this place.

Fandom Post Office, April 22 (Tuesday)

The post office still smelled like chocolate this week, and now, on top of that, Éponine kept finding candy eggs in various places. (They were Cadbury Creme Eggs, and she thought they were a little too strange, and now she could say that there was at least one kind of candy she definitely didn't like.)

She'd also given up on the idea of finding out the cause of the whole thing when the sound of a mail tray falling over caught her attention; when she went to go pick it up, there was a very chocolatey-smelling chocolate bunny underneath.

It wasn't moving, but she could swear there was a guilty expression on its little sculpted chocolate face.

Luke's, Tuesday, April 22

"Yes, I know, I'm late," Bay announced as she stomped into the diner's kitchen. "I was trying to straighten out which members of my completely insane family were coming to graduation this weekend, which, by the way, involved five phone calls, 37 texts, and half an hour on Skype with a sign language dictionary open in another window, and -- you aren't paying any attention to me, are you?"

The cooks shrugged. "Were we supposed to?" the taller one asked.

"We kind of like to stay out of other people's drama," the shorter one said. "Helps keep us sane."

"Great. At least somebody here is sane," Bay sighed, and set to work decorating the specials board.
