It had been kind of hard to think about much else since yesterday's call from Stiles, and Kitty didn't really think anyone could blame her for that. And when she wasn't likely to hear anything for at least 72 hours, and it'd probably be longer than that, she needed some kind of distraction.

Naturally that meant dragging her boyfriend out for date night.

"You know, I don't think I've been here since our first date," Kitty said as they stepped inside.

[For Clint, though open for all your pool-and-arcade-game playing needs!]

The kitchen was full of penguins.

"There's been a malfunction," the cook said.

"You know," said Eliot, cracking his knuckles. "I think I can work with this."

The penguins took one look at his face and all went squawking back into the freezer, slamming the door behind them.

On the one hand, the kitchen was no longer full of penguins. On the other, the kitchen staff were now eyeing him suspiciously, and the busboy was googling "penguin meat" on his phone.

It was going to be a long day.

Today's specials
Cedar plank salmon
Seaweed salad
Chocolate lava cakes

Last night, Nathan had dreamed of his father. It had been the same scene he'd replayed so many times since it had originally happened. Time slowing down, the snow, the excruciating pain of the bullet in his body, the three Gifts, and his father's blood. It had been the first and, thus far, last time he'd seen Marcus Edge.

But, he dreamed of him often. And when he'd woken up tucked into the curve of a tree, he'd felt a little more at peace than he had the night before. The heat wasn't too bad and the shade of the trees provided ample comfort. His shirt, shoes and socks were in a pile nearby and Nathan wasn't in any rush to dress and rejoin everyone else back at the dorms.

Nathan picked up the water he'd brought with him the night before and took a few drinks before he poured the rest on his hair and shoulders, cleaning him up and cooling him down. The water trickled down the scar on his back and he shivered. It had long healed but still seemed sensitive to any sort of touch even more so than the scar on his wrist.

Standing and stretching, Nathan scratched at the scar on the wrist and then the tattoos on his neck. With that done, Nathan bent down and dug out the cigarettes he'd shoved in one of the pockets of his pants. He stuck the cigarette in his mouth and went to light it but found he had nothing to light it with.

Well, that was brilliant. He groused quietly and sat back down against the tree, unlit cigarette still between his lips. He missed Gabriel. He missed his father.

[Open, sure, if you wanna find him out there]

For some reason the DJ was playing YMCA every hour. Tiny doing the appropriate dance moves on the bar was funny the first time, then it started getting old.

Next week, Allie was bringing headphones.

[I'm on tiny phone internets while traveling. Random slow play might be a thing. OCD free!]
