With a large chunk of their potential customers (and the manager) out of town, it was looking to be an even quieter night than usual.

So Cara was entertaining herself by trying to figure out just how much force she could flick peanuts at Tino with before the anti-violence spell kicked in. So far it hadn't.

So more than half the town was off on some kind of vacation, and Eliot himself had only just gotten back from a job (the "Do Not Go Gentle Job", suggested by the client, which was at least an improvement over Hardison's suggestion of the "Oh God, Oh God, We're All Going to Die Job"), so he hadn't been able to check in on the diner until now.

If the busboy didn't stop trying to poke Eliot's recently dislocated and currently immobilized shoulder, he was going to have to lock him into the freezer. Only Parker was allowed to do that. Or, on very rare occasion, Nate.
