The baggage had come and gone but Hatter was still damn offended by the one that said his hat was stupid. It was a great hat and he'd gone to great lengths to make sure every single staff member told him so. Once that was done, he'd taken a seat and ran a finger along the brim of his hat. It was a great hat.

The island was waking up again now that fall break was over, and Jack found himself glad of that. School and other responsibilities kept him from being the most social of men lately -- but he still disliked the intense quiet of weeks where the island turned into a ghost town.

He talked the DJ into playing the kind of Britpop that always made him happy and settled in behind the bar. The sign he had posted outside read:

Eliot had spent most of yesterday trying in vain to get rid of a large stack of suitcases labeled thing like "daddy issues" and "damned forever". He was not in the best of moods. Which would be why the kitchen staff was currently huddling in the corner of the kitchen, occasionally following his barked out instructions.
