All the baggage was gone. Except for a small satchel that Ralph had tried to sneak onto Vic's desk which had "Being Mean to Ralph" written on it.

Vic saw smirked and threw it in the trash before getting back to her pile of paperwork.

"Nice try, Ralph."

Another Tuesday, another day on the island, and Jono figured today was as good a day as any to show up at the music shop, put in a few more orders, and maybe just kill some time while busying himself with the stock. Or making phone calls. Fandom did have excellent connectivity to his own world, without the ridiculous roaming charges he would be paying from Glacia, and he'd been dying to play more with the phone that Barry had given him, anyway. Of course, he'd gone to voicemail when he tried calling Jubilee, Angelo kept throwing him a busy signal, Mira... was dead, he had no idea what Sofia's number was, Barry and Angel were too busy to talk, what with having a pack of small children to herd about...

Clearly, there was a reason he'd missed telephones. )

After this conversation, Jono was going to be putting the phone down for the rest of the day and thumping his forehead against the top of his desk. A good, solid, productive way to spend the next few hours. Maybe he'd even get up to put the 'NOW HIRIING' sign on the door, too. At some point. Eventually.

[OOC: Getting some canon out of the way and making a townies post. I'm on a roll or something! Open, flying without OCD. There are free shifts every day except Wednesday and Friday, if people are interested in that sort of thing!]

Sorting the mail today was going to be a problem thanks to the sorting bins apparently staging a revolt of some kind; every time Éponine or one of the other postal workers tried to put anything into them they would spit it right back out, and often right at the back of that person's head.

For inanimate objects with no (visible) eyes, they had distressingly good aim.

Half the employees decided they were completely done with dealing with this before noon, built a fort out of unwanted telephone books, and retreated inside it. The other half suddenly had other tasks to do, leaving Éponine -- who had a couple of stamps stuck in her hair and didn't yet know it -- to wrangle the bins by herself.

Don't think she wouldn't resort to bribery if she had to.

Today, everything tasted like pumpkin spice. Apparently over the last week while Kitty was gone there had been a shipment of a ton of pumpkin-flavored alcohol, and somehow now that was all they had left. Tino was pretending he didn't know anything about it and was more focused on the zombies' contracts (???).
