Sure, Jim had just been here for Homecoming but what was one more quick trip out, right? He liked this place and it saved him from having to deal with his completely up in the air future. It also helped that the coffee was really damn good too. He couldn't really get a place like this back home.

So, Jim was in the Perk, big cup of coffee (flavored with mint because it was the season), kicked back in front of the window and watching people pass on by. It was getting colder and grayer, a harbinger of winter if there ever was one.

Jim sipped his coffee and wondered if he could just come back here and bum around for a few years. It'd give him something to do and he'd be happy.

And probably bored.

Jim sipped his coffee again. Hmm.

"Already?"

It wasn't that Irene was actively dreading the holidays; it was that she hadn't expected them to appear in such force so soon. She'd stopped in at the Perk with the intention of getting something cozy to drink -- it was quite chilly out. But all the pumpkin spice paraphernalia had been replaced by peppermint and gingerbread and --

"Isn't it your Thanksgiving this month?" she asked the barista, finally caving and ordering a peppermint mocha. "Oughtn't you lot have sprung towards turkey-flavored things, or something? Isn't that the deal?"

The barista barely acknowledged that, instead handing over a drink that appeared to be more whipped cream than beverage. Irene retreated to a corner table, pulling her phone out to give herself something to do besides ponder where she'd been the last time she'd celebrated Christmas -- or, well, not celebrated, since she'd been pretending to be dead and all.

At least the drink was nice, even if her mood was a little more pensive than it'd been. And eventually she might even notice that she'd gotten whipped cream on the end of her nose.
