When Alana got to work, she went to stash her suitcase in the storage room. She was leaving for her trip back to Landfall straight from work, and going back to the dorms just to pack seemed depressing.

It was a little weird how excited she was about it, she thought. She'd been so sick of home that she'd gone to boarding school on a different planet, but after 15 months away a few weeks surrounded by familiar people and familiar sights seemed like the best possible idea. She'd already planned out her first dinner at home, down to the brand of juice she'd buy and where she wanted to go for dessert afterwards.

She was musing over the dessert selection again as she pulled the storage room door open and saw Hershey's Kisses in multicolored wrappers tumble forward, cresting almost at her knees.

Ah, Fandom.

The Magic Box, Wednesday

It was a subdued sort of day at the Magic Box. It looked as though the place had already been cleaned recently, which left Elsa with not much to do to pass the time. A few orders were late, so there wasn't anything to really put on the shelf, and the place was already decorated for the holidays, which meant...

Well, she'd discovered the chocolate-behind-doors thing on her way to work, and so she was spending most of her shift sitting at the counter with a small pile of it in her Halloween candy dish, occasionally popping one into her mouth as she read a book about modern Christmas traditions that she'd brought from the library.

Subdued day. But at least there was chocolate.
