Selkie Peak, Early Thursday Afternoon

There were many different ways to deal with the pollen that was currently saturating the air and driving people to the brink of madness. For Kathy and Edward, today's method involved ropes, complicated knots, and full-body harnesses.

Oh, and also a mountain. Obviously.

Ms. Parker had been happy to handwavily loan the safety equipment necessary for Kathy and Edward to rappel down Selkie peak. And since today was also the lunar New Year, Kathy had made plenty of jeon after class and packed it so they'd have something to eat when they got hungry. She wasn't sure if Edward had ever had any Korean cuisine before, but it was hard to go wrong with veggies and sausage skewered and fried, right?

Kathy bounced a little on her heels, peeking over the edge. If flinging themselves off the side of the peak didn't help them burn through some of this excess energy, maybe they could end their outing with a little freerunning back through town.

Across Town, Thursday Morning

Early in the morning, a set of beleaguered city officials spread across town with large posters. They tacked them up everywhere that had even a modicum of exposure for their message. It took an hour to get all the posters up, and then they all squirreled away, eager to make use of their offered bribe downtime.

The special that Irene had had up yesterday looked to be doing pretty well so far, so Amy wasn't going to tamper with the sign.

As for her tasks today, well -- she picked a radio station that was playing a lot of Beyonce and meanwhile tried her best to talk herself out of using her employee discount on some of the stuff that looked particularly tempting. It was... not working.

The Preserve [Thursday evening]

The sun was just dipping below the horizon when Celia made her way out to the preserve. Given the cold (and she'd bundled up, though her companion likely wouldn't need to) and the -- island, she figured that they were likely to remain uninterrupted, but it still didn't hurt to pick a fairly secluded spot, all the same.

She found a tree to lean against and pulled off her gloves, using a touch of magic to work warmth into her fingers while she waited.
