Tonight, Tino was very wisely staying as far away from (a still sneezing) Cara it as was possible to be while still remaining behind the bar because someone was Not Happy.

Even with cold baths and sequestering yourself away from people, it turned out that emotional relief only went so far when what you needed, what you had a desperate, bone-deep craving for, was a physical one.

Not to mention ending up in the duck-pond multiple times within the first hour of her shift because some incredibly stupid people could not take a hint was only adding to her good mood.

Across the Island, Friday

The flowers had bloomed for a full week.

That was their lifespan; no more, and no less.

And so on Friday morning they began to shrivel up, puffing their last bursts of pollen into the air before crumbling into nothingness. The leftover pollen was less potent, and would remain in the air to some degree until the last of it dissipated in the early evening hours; how long it would remain working people's systems was entirely up to the biology of each individual person.

Celia made it in to work today! Already, things were better than last week, at least in that regard. And it was warm -- at least, there was the capability of making things warm, and it wasn't snowing!

Wins all around, really. Even if she was still a little distracted, she could feel it dissipating.

In any case, as soon as she made it in to the shop today, Celia set to work fiddling with the thermo-thingie (she still preferred a fire or a stove, thank you) and making sure it was as cozy as she could make it before settling down behind the counter with a book.

She'd be productive in a bit. Just now she was a little pleased with herself just for, you know, being here at all.

Allie was behind the bar alternating between reading up on how to make a good Bloody Mary and debating at what point she should cut out and head over to Caritas. Because there was no way in hell she was going to miss that show. For reasons.

Caritas, Friday Evening

It was an idea Mike had had while he’d been walking home early, far too early this morning, having been booted from Allie's due to vampire and daytime reasons. It was an idea that had still been in his head when he'd woken up at home some hours into the afternoon, and even though he could feel the island's pull on his hormones beginning to lessen a bit, it was an idea he'd decided to go with. He'd talked about it with people enough last night to just go with it, you know? Like a proper send-off to this week.

And now it was the early evening, and Mike was at Caritas (much to the chagrin of Tino) even though it wasn't his shift. And he wasn't behind the bar, either. For now, he was sitting in front of it with a beer. Totally deserved after he’d slaved over the big-ass handmade sign now hanging outside the bar's entrance:
