Anders felt less than his best when he opened the shop today. It wasn't as though anything in particular was going wrong -- he just had a headache that was too minor to be worth the trouble of healing it but too annoying to ignore, and somehow the gray ordinariness of island life was a disappointment after the cruise.

It was good to have work as a distraction, anyhow. Though the first thing he had to do was call a vendor who kept sending the wrong supplies and argue over whether frog eyeballs and frog tongues were or were not interchangeable, which really didn't do much to enhance his mood.

Yesterday, Leland Gaunt had been treated to a delightful conversation with one of the locals, and he'd gotten a bit of business earlier in the week still. It looked as though things were starting to settle in nicely around the island, which, Leland thought, was an excellent reason to be smiling as he rearranged a few items in his shop, moving a few of his more enticing items closer to the front window.
