It apparently didn't matter just how much Hardison or Nate or Parker yelled at him or lectured him or side-eyed him, it wasn't going to bring down Eliot's good mood. Yeah, okay, so maybe there were better ways to accomplish things than punching Sterling. It wasn't like he'd killed anyone or anything! And, you know, maybe he was tired of being in a grumpy mood all the time. If beating up Sterling got him the intel to get him this necklace and made him happy, then so be it!

So, no, lectures and yelling from his friends wasn't enough to ruin his mood. Getting woken from a brief nap over some paperwork by the busboy on the other hand. . . .

"Oh, calm down." Eliot threw an ice pack to the kid with a roll of his eyes. "I didn't even hit you that hard."

"All I did was touch your shoulder!" the busboy said.

"Yeah." Eliot stared at him, unconsciously doing, as Tara put it, 'that thing with his eyes that scared people'. "So don't do that again."

JGOB- Monday afternoon

Kitty had been able to blame students falling asleep on class on just having a boring class today, but she hadn't expected it to follow her around. After class she'd gone to JGOB to pick up some stuff to bring home, only to have the person at the counter at the counter start yawning and blinking a lot when she got there. And then he straight up fell asleep when ringing up her order.

"You're not getting a tip," she said, hoping that would wake him up.

Hatter had very big plans when he breezed into work that morning. He had lesson plans to write and letters to read and a phone to look at it. He had new tea variations he wanted to attempt and staff he wanted to talk to about certain things.

All that went away when he sat down in his chair and promptly fell asleep. Well, then.

The Perk, Monday Afternoon

The first time it happened, Atton had been in the middle of an important slice during a brief moment of peace for Mira, who'd been defending the room while Atton worked. The next time it happened, Mira had just rolled a gas grenade into their target's office and knocked out both the man himself and his handlers. And the third time? The third time, Atton'd been leaning briefly against a wall to wind down from carrying a heavy Neimoidian on his back.

Had you ever fallen over for a nap with a Neimoidian on your back? Yeah.

As soon as they'd gotten back to the ship, they'd found Brianna waiting for them, because apparently Atton's 'sudden narcolepsy' was 'a threat to the second half of the mission', and blah blah blah whatever. Ugh.

So he'd returned to what he was pretty sure was the source of all the stupid (if restful) napping: Fandom. And while the naps themselves had actually been pretty nice and he hadn't woken up with half of his face feeling like it was on fire once, he was still right here in the Perk, chugging back coffee out of spite.

You couldn't get him forever, island. Damn it.

There was plenty for Jack to do at the bar today, but all of it seemed weirdly uninspiring. Somebody else could reorder the vodka, and he had a few days before he needed to bother with payroll. He could do it all when he -- yawn -- wasn't so damned tired.

Besides, Eric was out today. Jack normally stayed far from the VIP section -- it reeked of vampire -- but today it looked soft and cozy. He ended up napping in a VIP booth, legs covered with his jacket.

The DJ, in between naps of his own, played soft acoustic lullabies.

Mary had plenty of paperwork to keep her busy for hours. She called the kitchen to order some coffee. Unfortunately, by the time Gunther arrived with her coffee, Mary was fast asleep in her desk chair. So Gunther took the coffee pot and left, mumbling something about Mary's late-night activities.

Mary woke up a few minutes later and called the kitchen back. "Really, how long can it take to make some coffee? Just get out here with it already!" she yelled at Gunther. But when Gunther got back to the front desk with a fresh pot of coffee, Mary was asleep again.

It was going to be one of those days.

Leland Gaunt was more amused than displeased to discover that the vagaries of this island might apply to him; it was a curiosity, nothing more. In any regard, his shop was open, and he had such lovely trinkets to sell.
