Luke's, Thursday Afternoon

The last thing Hardison wanted was another fight with a tentacle monster, so as soon as he was done with radio, he headed for Luke's and bullied the busboy and the dishwasher to go into the freezer and check it over for monsters, demons, or anything else that seemed likely to want to devour their bodies and/or souls. Neither of them were very keen on being 'ambulatory bait', as the busboy called them, but Hardison threatened to publish the browser history on all of their electronic devices unless they went in and searched.

They were in there for hours, but eventually they returned wearing a bunch of crude amber jewelry and carrying yet more fish. They said they didn't find any tentacle monsters, but that they'd been granted full plenipotentiary powers by the polar bear tribes for all future negotiations.

It was a slow day at the station, just like always, so Jessica was catching up on paperwork.

Sadly, Ralph was pretty good with rubber-band-and-paperclip-work, so he was shooting her planes out of the air with ease.

Lottie had accidentally stayed up too late last night regaling her friends back in Tackleford with her Conspiracy Theory class speech. As a result, she was currently lying flat out on the check out counter at Groovy Tunes, pondering taking a nap.

One would think that melodic Swedish death metal would be an odd choice for relaxing nap-music, but Lottie found it totally soothing.

Now the main purpose of Barry taking a job at Stark's was to learn how to better run a business. However he seemed more interested in pestering Jarvis.

The issue with the current spate of heat was that Edward had promptly overslept in reaction to it, as if his body simply didn't want him to go in and do actual work in this madness. At least, that was how he was choosing to read it, considering he'd been late for a whole range of things these past few days.

Anyway, he was rushing in an hour late, hopped over the counter, and immediately began sorting mail.
