It seemed like the bulk of people had cleared off the island. Walking through town, the streets seemed emptier and a little less suffocating than before. It eased Jasper's tension slightly, made it a little easier to go outside without his eyes settling on potential prospects at every turn.

People are real. People matter.

That mantra had been hard to remember these past few days. He'd found his father's voice invading his thoughts more often, found his nightmares sharper and bloodier. It was definitely his hand around a knife and he'd cut something.

He'd cut something and Jasper was scared to death that he'd cut someone.

The ever present tension had brought Jasper down to the onsen today. The water was warm, almost hot, and he slipped in gratefully. It was still early so the quiet was nearly complete. Every so often he'd hear the chattering of a bird of the conversation of people off in the distance but it was mostly silent.

Jasper blew out a breath and tried to relax.

Jaina decided to stick around for an extra day, because Fandom was kind of like her second home and she could. Besides, Portalocity couldn't get her out till tonight anyway, so why not head to the Perk in the meantime and check up on what was going on at home.

Of course, the coffee supplies seemed slightly depleted today, probably thanks in part to Brooke buying up all the coffee that one day and then Jake Gavin existing, so Jaina was stuck with chai.

Sigh.

Maria got to work fairly early and set about to make sure that things were as they were supposed to be as she thought both about the weekend and about class yesterday. The two events of cataclysmic change were linked in her mind now and probably would be for awhile. She just had to figure out what to do about the one that she could make a change in.

The stereo was currently play Metallica and Maria was behind the register ready to help any customers.

Jessica got to work today and immediately saved her scan of Peter to her dimensional database. She would have done more with it if she hadn't noticed her text messages.

Talked to another guy from Battleworld yesterday. Both of us are having memory issues. You might be right. If you visit, be CAREFUL. Don't reply unless you're ready just in case.

Well. That was unexpected. And it did keep her from sending a probe to Battleworld today, so there was that. But now she had to figure out what she might need to visit the one hunk of rocks and people in the middle of a great void in space. A good compass would be a start.

Also, the shop was open. Naturally.
