The new facial recognition app Cosima spent her workday playing with was pretty smart. It recognized celebrities, her friends from home, even some of the faces in some random shots she'd taken since getting to Fandom.

But for some reason, it kept saying every photo of Cosima was actually of some random Canadian named Alison Hendrix. Cosima couldn't see the resemblance at first -- it was hard for her to get past the amount of track pants and headbands Alison seemed to be wearing in all her Facebook photos -- but then she took another look. That was Cosima's pointed chin and brown eyes, the slope of her nose, even if they stared out from another girl's face.

"Huh," she muttered, swiveling in her chair, and tapped off a quick message to Alison. This is random but my phone keeps thinking photos of me are really of you. Hi. Got any long-lost-twins? :-)

The response from Alison came back seconds later: I don't see it at all, followed swiftly by a block notification.

"Wow, that's harsh," Cosima informed no one in particular, and abruptly turned her phone off so she could focus on work. Finding your double was probably a lot more fun when your double didn't turn out to be a bitch about it.

So apparently she had a new boss or something? Alana's main worry was that the new person would cut into her trashy novel reading time, but she figured a good show the first few days would help preclude that. So she spent her shift dusting the high shelves, the ones she usually skipped, and trying to look alert and helpful.

She more or less succeeded.
