Trooper Station, Thursday

It was a quiet day in the Trooper Station, made all the quieter by a station-wide round of the Quiet Game. Jessica wasn't positive some of the troopers weren't cheating by turning off their helmet speakers, but whatever, she'd give the benefit of the doubt.

The competition was fierce, with nobody speaking a word. And then the worst thing happened: the phone rang.

Jessica and the troopers looked at each other. In the first moments, nobody moved. Then there was pointing. The pointing became more aggressive. By the time the ringing stopped, chokeholds had been applied and Ralph's hand was webbed to the phone. Everyone regained their composure once the noise stopped.

And then it rang again.

The Perk- Thursday evening

Kitty had decided to stop in at the Perk on her way home tonight, only for the barista to give her a wink and a free coffee, along with a message to "thank the flamingo."

Since she had no idea what that was about, she decided to take a seat and very obviously eavesdrop on the baristas' conversation because she had to find out the story there.
