The last time Ada had been at work, it had been eventful. Then it had been Spring Break, which had been filled with new adventures.

This week? Your shop assistant was bundled up in a blanket, fast asleep on the counter. Someone was utterly unimpressed with how chilly Fandom was, and would rather hibernate through the rest of winter, thank you very much.

Demon Marcus is open, but you'll have to wake the blanket-monster to get any service.

Trooper Station, Thursday

It was a quiet day at the station, so Jessica was toying around with a few of her mask improvements she had installed in her free time. The full HUD setup would be work on Stark time with Stark tech, but something like an integrated comm system that could link up with the trooper's helmets? That was a little easier to do at home.

Of course, she would improve on the system with a tracking systems so she could coordinate more easily with the troopers should something nasty invade, but again, that was for later.

For today, the troopers were helping her test the system out, heading to different spots on the island while keeping in communication. And thus, the quiet day was literally quiet. The only sound was Jessica talking to people who weren't even in the room.

Luke's, Thursday Afternoon

The dishwasher, the busboy, and one of the baristas from the Perk were standing behind the lunch counter behind three identical baskets. In front of them stood the cook, explaining that in this challenge, they'd have to use the contents of their basket to put together a delicious entree, but they must use our secret ingredients...kale, mayo, potatoes, and herring. At the sound of the buzzer, all three of them leapt into action, furiously chopping, peeling, and unwrapping their items.

"Ten dollars says they all decide to use the kale in a salad," the cook sighed.

Hardison was pretty sure this entire thing was a terrible idea, but so help him, he was intrigued. "They ain't gonna mash it in with the potatoes? That's what Eliot does sometimes to hide the fact he's makin' us eat kale." Because Hardison and Parker were children when it came to vegetables occasionally.

"No," the cook said tragically. "Or, at least, no one has yet."

After a moment of thought, Hardison took a seat beside the cook and waited for whatever culinary abominations would be coming out. "Ten dollars says someone braises it instead."

"Deal," cook replied. "Let me get you the spread on the likelihood it'll be burned."

Dante'd been by a couple of times to feed the cat, but it'd been a while since they last shared some quality time. And sure, it was still cold out, but Dante's coat was practically tailor-made for this kind of shit; it just meant closing it up for once, that was all.

And so on Thursday afternoon he made it back into town, a container of meat scraps he'd collected from dinner over the past couple of days under his arm. He got up on the roof in two bounds, flipped over onto the edge, opened up the container, and set it down next to him.

The cat showed up about five minutes later. "You're getting slow in your old age, kitty-cat," Dante said, sitting back. "Guess that's not so bad."
