Rufus surveyed the shipment of new books that had come in blandly. He'd put them away, since he was being paid to do a job, but honestly, he had not expected there to be so many books to put away.

Ah well. There were worse things he could be doing. Like answering his PHS.

Tseng had… still not given up. Rufus was impressed, despite himself, and he supposed that he was going to have to talk to Tseng eventually.

But first, he thought virtuously, I must do my job. A Turk would understand that.

Around Fandom, Friday Morning

The island had seen the cycle of universe's end six times now. It was starting to get a little unnerved by the process. It needed something... nicer. Sweeter. Less likely to give anyone alcohol poisoning.

So it was that, on Friday morning and without fanfare - its thunder stolen by the impressive explosions outside the Restaurant's dome - the island simply blinked away. It reappeared with equal lack of fuss, hovering in the sky above a large planet, part-green, part-grey. It stayed there for a few moments, before drifting neatly downwards, nestling itself neatly in a small lake in the middle of an enormous forest.

It seemed unaware of the large conglomeration of nervous, bipedal forest creatures that assembled underneath its shadow before it settled-- creatures who were now eyeing the island with confusion from across the lake.

Inventory had continued through the week. So far, nothing was missing, but Mary had been driving the housekeeping staff crazy with questions about how they came up with so many extra pillowcases. By Friday, they'd had enough.

When Mary arrived at the front desk, she found Gunther had swapped out his usual chef's hat. In its place, he wore a pillowcase pulled over his head with two holes cut out for his eyes. He also had a pillowcase for her to wear, except it had been cut with arm and neck holes so she could wear it as a dress.

Mary was going to spend her entire shift alternately glaring in the direction of the kitchen and the janitorial closet.

The Beach, Friday Evening

A new Friday, a new change of scenery. Tamsin had hoped for somewhere else that stocked booze, but thankfully, she'd had the foresight of getting a whole bunch of it from the Restaurant before they moved this morning.

It was Friday evening, and Mobius's sun hung low in the sky, but it was warm, and there were birds chirping as they flew past Fandom's dome. Perfect atmosphere or whatever. There were large, glittery umbrellas dotting the sand for effect, a bunch of chairs and tables arranged just a few feet away from the sandy parts of the beach, and a few grills were cooking away meat and veggies for the incoming guests.

Fandom beach party. This would definitely end well.
