Demon Marcus, Thursday Afternoon

After class and her... intervention, it was a restless Ada behind the counter at Demon Marcus today. And if she spent most of her time gazing out the window in the direction of Milliways, well, someone would much rather be people-watching instead of waiting for customers.

She'd put in just enough effort to write up a sign and toss it in the window, and now was going to spend the rest of her shift daydreaming unless someone came along and made her work.

Post office, Thursday

There was a very large box at the post office today with a customs label reading simply "towels".

There was also a very irate customer complaining to Tip that this package was a day late.

"This is inexcusable!" he ranted. "I was meant to lead a very important research mission to Traal yesterday to study the bugblatter beast's curious and unique inability to recognize object permanence! Do you know how many interns we lost?! I'm holding you personally accountable!"

Tip was beginning to understand why her mom would sometimes come home from shifts at the grocery store and just sit on the couch watching tv and drinking all night.

While the store was open and clean and inviting for any customer walking in, Dipper was scowling behind the counter at the most recent Meta for Captain America where a certain revelation had been made that was clearly a serious retcon.

Honestly Dipper would probably be swearing a lot right now if he wasn't from a Kid show/Disney owned property.

Town Hall, Thursday

"We're parked across the Restaurant at the End of the Universe," Tamsin said, sighing. She had her chin cushioned on her hand, and her elbow cushioned on a giant stack of paperwork. "How am I still bored?"

"You don't have to be," Bright Eyes said, her eyes feverishly bright with the remains of last night's hangover. "I just got some new paperwork in from--"

"I don't want to know," Tamsin said flatly.

"--but it's the sew--"

"It's another set of paperwork. I know. Put it with the rest." Like that was going to cure her ennui.

Bright Eyes cleared her throat. "Ma'am," she said, shoulders set and resolute, "It's about the alligators in the sewer."

Tamsin sat up. "Again?"

Ugh. Bright Eyes nodded, winced, put the paperwork down, and scarpered to the toilet to get a painkiller. "Stupid alligators," Tamsin muttered, grabbing the papers quick.
