Due to her player being overwhelmed recently with work and the like Jessica had been hard at work recently. Reasonably convinced that she wasn't going to go crazy any time soon and showing little to no progress with Tony's stuff, she was able to settle in a bit on the alternate world thing.

Still no sign of anything happening in her original corner of the multiverse, but she had signs of similar worlds that were worth checking out, so she visited them. There was the world where everything was the same, only apparently she was a guy with a thing for hoodies instead of a girl with a thing for jackets. There was the world where everything was the same except everyone was a cartoon animal. There was the world where everyone spoke Esperanto, and that actually caused world peace.

But none of them were home. So after a few weeks on the road, she was taking a break today and catching up on the e-mail she had been pretty much ignoring recently. Most of it was easily trashed, and a stunning amount was still male enhancement pill spam. There was a reason she was able to ignore the e-mail for a while.

The bar was open and the Olympics were on in the back room.

And Kitty had a tablet propped up on the bar to watch the non-televised sports.

Her phone, too. Look, she'd learned from last night's shunning of men's gymnastics.

Who had introduced Éponine to the Olympics, and who had helped her set up her phone to stream live events? Because whoever that was, they might have a lot to explain to people on this island who were waiting on their mail today. Éponine had gotten fairly hooked on watching . . . well, everything, and because she didn't care to risk running out of battery while she was out on her route she was sitting behind the counter in the lobby where she could keep her phone plugged in, peering at the gymnastics feed on her screen.

So mail was probably going to be late today. Sorry, everyone.
