Lukes, Monday
Monday, September 19th, 2016 01:16 pmThings were nice and peaceful at Luke's today. The staff were all wearing normal clothing and going about their jobs in a professional, courteous manner. The specials were prepped and ready to be prepared with minimal fuss, and nothing was attempting to escape the freezer. Eliot had plenty of time to sit down in the dining room, enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee with none of the fancy coffee shop accents people liked to fluff coffee up with these days, and get some over due paperwork done.
It was entirely nerve-wracking.
"Alright," he finally said, storming into the kitchen about an hour and a half into the day. "What the hell are you guys up to now?"
The kitchen staff blinked at him. Then the dishwasher and cook both groaned, while the busboy beamed. "90 minutes!" he said. "Pony up, suckers!"
The dishwasher grumbled something under his breath while he handed the busboy a wad of green. Not money, mind you. A wad of assorted green things. The cook glared at Eliot.
"You couldn't have held out another twenty minutes?"
Eliot rubbed his forehead. "You're all fired."
