merchant_of_miracles: (considering your offer)
[personal profile] merchant_of_miracles
After two and a half solid days of working on his cart, the Merchant of Miracles felt pretty good hobbling walking into the store on Thursday; his little shoulders were thrown back and his little chest puffed out with pride. "You should see it, Nahasapeemapedilon!" he said. "I did a realy find job, if I do say so myself! Better than ever! Better than before! Maybe I should thank that Scaramouche guy for giving me the opportunity to do a much needed overhaul on that piece of junk. You should see it! Prettiest cart you've ever seen!"

It should be noted that it looked exactly the same as before. The Merchant just added some cheap gold trim.

"And, lemme tell ya, it was so nice to get a good night's sleep, too. Can't get a wink in that stable with those unicorns. The Other One snores."

An accusation strong enough to make the Other One snort in irritation, because it definitely wasn't him that was doing the snoring, thank you very much.

Today was International Chess Day and Luke's had a surprising number of people inside with chessboards all set up to play. There was also a large garden chess set set up in the middle of the restaurant for kids to play with. Hardison, who was still brooding over the weekend more than was probably healthy, was only too glad to nod at a wizened old Latino man and join him at his table for a game or two. Getting his ass whupped by a secret chess ninja was a good way to take his mind off of imagining what had happened to Noah.

It was also a fun way to annoy the hell out of Sterling, because of course Hardison was texting Olivia and then telling Sterling about their conversation.

The stereo was still behaving itself for Octavia. Not that random visitors to the store were likely to assume that it was: her somber, leather-clad figure walking around the store seemed to be at odds with the joyful showtunes the stereo was belting out.

But she'd missed out on music all her life. That included damn near all music. So for now, she was content to be grabbing CDs from the shelves at random and seeing what they contained. No prejudice.

She was also taking a closer look at some of the instruments being sold at the store, today. Trying to guess at what they sounded like and how they were supposed to be played.

She probably needed to think about getting a phone. So she could Google these things.
