Furnado Animal Shelter, Tuesday

Upon entering the animal shelter today, Zack had been... maybe a little bit confused. Everything appeared to be tubes. Everything. Plastic tubes, arranged in a people-sized maze that one could navigate fairly easily if they got down on all fours and crawled through the tunnels into different chambers along the way. It took a bit of doing to find his way around the first couple of times, but Zack was taking the dogs for human-sized habitrail runs before noon, and hauling stock around with very little trouble at all.

Sometimes Fandom's quirks were inconvenient, but fun. So long as the animals could still be taken care of today, that was fine by him.

Covent Garden Flowers, Tuesday

Nathan's squint when he walked into the store was one that he managed to sustain for a good ten, fifteen minutes as he looked around at the stock.

Everything, inexplicably, had been replaced with jade plants.

Well, everything but the fish pond, anyway. And that included the bouquets, the phone, and the cash register.

"Well, that'll make for an easy shift."

It'd probably turn back by tomorrow, he supposed. He'd write a note to Peter explaining the lack of flower arrangements being made today, but, well, the pen...

Taako had discovered the joys of the internet. Not for porn like most people used it but for the shopping. Turned out that there were tons of websites that sold clothes for the fashionable wizard who was too lazy to go to a store.

So yeah that's what he'd be doing today.

So Raven had gotten a handwaved message from Jono about his plans for the shop, so when she decided she was actually, you know, going to make it into work today, she headed over to the theater instead of the remains of the old building. Jono had said something about paring down the albums "because internet" and focussing on musical instruments more, so Raven figured futzing around with the new stock and trying to play the simpler, more durable looking instruments was just part of being a good employee, right?

Well, that's what she was going to go with if anyone asked why she was absolutely murdering early American folk music on a tin fife for her shift today. Who knew "Ants Go Marching" was so hard to play?

The Merchant of Miracles had just finished a very meticulously stacked display in the prime spot by the main register when Apu broke the bad news to him.

"Whaddya mean the eclipse happened yesterday? What the heck am I gonna do with all these glasses now?"

But that, apparently, was not Apu's problem. The Merchant grumbled and muttered after he climbed down from his ladder and thought about just kicking the pyramid of eclipse glasses and making Apu clean it up. But it was there, and he didn't want to deal with it, so he just waved his hands dismissively and hoped some people out there had really bad taste in eyewear, or maybe he could try to pawn them off as some sort of anti-post-eclipse-radioactive-magic wave glasses. He'd figure something out. He always did.
