Tony was very busy today trying to create the perfect coffee maker. So far it was able to fly and had a rudimentary AI installed in it.

Look, he was doing his best and this was what he came up with for today that didn't involve messy emotions or some awful, melodramatic monologue.

Furnado Animal Shelter, Tuesday

Zack was in a pretty okay mood today at work, and he was spending his shift running his errands around the shop, telling Girl (who was basically his dog now and he was okay accepting that) all about his reasons for it. Sure, she didn't really understand the finer details, but she wasn't exactly complaining about the attention, or the fact that Zack was doing better today than he had been in a while. Every time he'd look her way, she'd give him an encouraging tail wag, and when he wasn't looking her way she was right at his side, pressing the warm weight of her body encouragingly against his leg.

Karla had really been on to something, bringing the trained therapy dogs here for him to find homes for.

Tseng had really been on to something, getting the animal shelter, of all places, for Zack to run, after everything.

He was feeling up to the 'actually dealing with the people' side of the job today too, so Zack put a Now Hiring sign in the window. Why not share the love, right?

And, uh, they probably actually needed more staff anyway.

Covent Garden Flowers, Tuesday

One thing Nathan hadn't anticipated when he'd agreed to work at the flower shop was the sheer amount of holidays that people observed in a place like this, with people from everywhere all living in one place.

This week, apparently, was the lead-up to November 11th, which meant that Nathan was fielding calls for Veterans Day arrangements. And wreaths for Remembrance Day and Armistice Day. And poppies.

So. Many. Damn. Poppies.

It wasn't tiny gourds, at least. And Nathan was almost relieved when someone called asking if they did cornucopia arrangements for Thanksgiving. He was counting himself lucky that the shop was behaving itself today.

He was also desperately shaking down suppliers for more rush orders on poppies. Because that was going to be a thing this week, apparently.

Rufus frowned slightly as he leaned back in his chair and, rather than work on putting the bookshop in order (it wasn't that bad off anyway), caught up on news back home.

Most of it was rather bland, carefully cut and dried to present the right image, but Rufus had access to more information than other people did and he could read between the lines.

AVALANCHE was becoming more of a problem for his father.

Rufus didn't smile.

That was what they were paid to do, after all. It'd be a shame if they had let him down.

When Kitty got to the bar, she found that they'd gotten a shipment of a lot of holiday spices and mixers and such. Like, a lot. Like, she didn't know how to use it all up before the actual holidays.

While Summer was cleaning the shop today, she came across something that looked pretty interesting. So, cautiously, because she still didn't believe Ghanima that these items weren't all cursed or possessed or whatever, she decided to open it to see what was inside.

"Oh, gross," she said. "What the hell??"

And yet there she was, eagerly pulling out each drawer to see if anything really disgusting might be lurking inside.
