Chilly Boulder- Monday afternoon

Sia had had things to attend to today (some of which totally had nothing to do with covering up a botched and unnecessary rescue mission, really), and then it was back to Fandom for the second time in less than a month. If she was being honest with herself, she was grateful for the chance to get away for a little bit.

Well, except that the first thing she was doing in town was going to be talking about what had happened, at least to some degree, with a person she'd mostly avoided as a student because he'd once threatened to do exactly what he and his crew had wanted to do now. In related news, timelines were awful and she didn't like dealing with them.

To make matters worse, Cade wanted to meet here. Because Cade thought he was funny. So Sia was just going to eat her ice cream as princessily as possible until he showed up.

Luke's, Monday

"Not," Eliot said as he came into work Monday morning. "A. Word."

The staff all nodded, smiling indulgently.

"Let's get some leafy greens in the specials today," Eliot suggested. "Pretty sure half the island is gonna need the vitamins and fiber."

The busboy already had a pile of kale ready for washing, and gave Eliot a silent thumbs up.

Eliot looked at the staff suspiciously. "So we're all on the same page, then."

Everyone nodded, still smiling.

"Well . . . good." Eliot grabbed some paperwork from his office and took a seat in a corner booth, where he could keep an eye on things.

Which would be when the staff brought out the enormous ice cream cake, decorated with a picture of wee Eliot with chocolate smeared all over his mouth.

Eliot thunked his head onto the table without even threatening to fire a single one of them.
