Coffee. Sparkle had a class on the mainland later this week, had to throw together revisions that his instructor had given him on his 'Big Bad Wolf' costume design by Wednesday, and was going to have a long night ahead of himself if he wanted to get the first draft of his pattern done up so that he could start sewing before the weekend was through.

Which, of course, was why he was at the Perk. Procrastinating. A lot. In one hand he had the biggest possible cup of the sweetest, most syrupy garbage they would serve him. In the other hand, a pencil, which was just sort of hovering over a sketch of someone in clothing meant to be evocative of oppressive wolfishness, ragged and military both at the same time. Now his teacher wanted him to add a little more actual wolf.

"I don't want to design an actual furry," he was muttering, tapping his pencil to his paper. "There's gotta be a better way."

There was not enough coffee in the world. And really, there probably weren't enough distractions in the world, either.

Miguel was encouraged by the normality of the specials board when he got to work.

That lasted until he saw the kitchen.

"What is that?"

"Milk," the cook said.

"Milk isn't that color," Miguel argued.

In answer, the cook just shoved a glass at him. Against his better judgment, Miguel sniffed it and took a sip. And sure enough, it was...well, some sort of milk.

"What happened to it?"

The cook shrugged. As long as it tasted right, he apparently didn't care. "And dessert's on you."

Miguel sighed and added a line at the bottom of the board.

Today's Specials
Strawberry milkshake
Mac 'n' cheese
Dulce de leche
The milk is all blue, but don't worry, it's fine!

Look, Bobby was still disappointed that none of the food he and Uma had attempted to smuggle out from the Danger Shop earlier this week had actually turned out to be real. Not because he actually had a habit of hoarding food for survival... he just liked food. Like, a lot.

So of course during his first real foray into exploring the town he ended up in the bakery.

"I'll take... one of everything." Decisions were hard, and this way he didn't have to make any! But wait, it'd be rude to come back to the room without anything for his partner-in-food-smuggling. "No, two of everything."

Honestly, the staff didn't even blink at the request. This was Fandom, after all. They'd seen far weirder than an indecisive, hungry teenager.

The nicest part of winter was how quickly the sun went down in the evenings--gave a vampire a lot more time to get things done before bleeding from the ears and eyes, catching fire, and dying, etc., etc.

Finally back from settling some accounts in Louisiana (and jacking up the prices at Fangtasia in preparation for the Mardi Gras crowds), Eric was back in Fandom, settled into his normal spot well away from the bar.

Vampires don't serve humans, thank you very much. That's what Tiny was for.

There were lots of pink and red flowers, and Seivarden was quite proud of the arrangements she was making. She kept a cup of tea on the counter while working on them, and her thoughts drifted to old memories, pleasant ones, although unpleasant to remember. She had never paid much attention to the flowers kept in her family home, but some of the scents of the flowers here were similar to them, and brought back images of that house. It was gone now, probably, after a thousand years. But she was still proud of her flower arrangements, even if she was quietly crying.
