Fandom Post Office, February 13 (Tuesday)

If she'd thought the post office had been annoying in its themed efforts last week, Éponine was basically just going to be swearing under her breath all day today, and that had nothing to do with the extra amounts of packages she seemed to have to sort.

No, that was all the swarms of tiny heart-shaped balloons that kept spawning out of midair, inevitably right around head level, and right where she had to duck out of the way. By 10 AM she'd already sustained two (multiply) bruised shins because of it.

"Ridiculous holiday."

Furnado Animal Shelter, Tuesday

Sorry, No Adoptions This Week!

Zack was not giving anybody an avenue to get people a surprise pet that would just end up back here again in a month. He was not. If anybody who came in wanting one was really serious about their desire to bring a pet into their home, they'd be just as happy with one that came home on the 20th as the 13th.

He was putting his foot down on that one.

... The vet on staff actually stood up and applauded him for it, which was kind of nice. And then she told him to keep that sign when this holiday was through, because Easter was going to be next.

Covent Garden Flowers, Tuesday

Nathan was doing an admirable job working on flower arrangements today, the day before The Flower Holiday, without resorting to committing homicide. It was anybody's best guess as to how he was managing that, honestly, but he was doing his best to just put flowers together in a calm and rational way, even while at least slightly convinced that he had somehow been transported to one of the circles of Hell overnight.

Whichever one had flowers.

So many flowers.

... And one weirdo coming in to ask if they made bouquets out of pancakes.

"Go to the goddamn diner. We deal in flowers here."

And the occasional arrangement with sex toys worked in, provided people supplied their own, apparently.

"After this, I'm quitting my damn job."

He didn't mean that. Probably.

Fantasy Costco | Tuesday

Taako was obsessed with this Valentine's Day thing. The colors, the theme and the candy were all up his alley. He was so focused on decorating the joint with glitter and naked chubby guys shooting arrows that he didn't even put up a special item for the day. Oh well, customers could deal.

It was experiment night at Caritas, with Kitty and Tino trying out Valentine’s-themed drinks.

Well, sort of.

“Okay,” Kitty sighed, “you can’t just keep making vodka cranberries, I don’t care if they’re red.”

The usual dusting and sweeping was going to get done today, Summer was very good at doing at least the bare minimum of what people expected of her, but most of her energy today was definitely going into taking more pictures for her photography assignment for art. She was stuck there all afternoon with some really cool, weird, bizarre old things. How could she not try to get a million pictures of stuff, trying to be way too artsy about it in the process?

Who wouldn't want a closely cropped picture of the corner of an ornate armoire at a weird angle? How about a random shot of a precariously stacked tower of mismatched teacups? And lamps. So many lamps. Always with the lamps.

Luke's, Tuesday

Mitsutada had been called back to the Citadel again last week, but this time it had been to go on a mission back to Honno-ji. He wasn't feeling the desire to turn on the grill or oven today, settling for cold prepped foods. He never liked seeing or feeling heat for a bit after times at Honno-ji. He wondered how worse it was for Hasebe or Yagen or even Souza to be there.
