Amaya had to admit, she was in a pretty good mood this Friday. She'd been crunching the numbers, and the results looked great. Almost too good, but, no, that was the value of hard work, right before her eyes. Between the grind here at the store, her teaching side hustle, and the rent from one of her spare rooms in the house, the down payment on a space for a forge was building up very nicely. And now she had a trip to a strange land she'd never heard of to look forward to. When she got back, she'd get started on scoping out available spots and making some blueprints...

...if she could wait. She might just start her scouting when she got done here today.

The Park, Friday Afternoon

Once again, Kanan was in the park, doing his lightsaber forms.

Once again, Kanan had the dog along with him.

Unlike usual, the ducks had finally decided they'd had enough of Stance's shenanigans. The dog had trotted over to the shoreline to find his friends, and had found nothing at all. He'd sniffed around a bit, and then huffed and turned to make his way back to Kanan instead, only to find himself flanked from behind by several angry ducks and their backup, a handful of flamingos.

So if anybody wanted Kanan today, they'd have to wait until he was done attempting to rescue his dog from angry waterbirds in a daring combination of grabbing his dog under his arm and running, and holding out his other hand and trying to soothe the birds through the Force.

And that was how Kanan Jarrus learned that ducks probably were creatures of the dark side.
