uncertain_dume: (Caleb - Form Three)
[personal profile] uncertain_dume
So, the guy with the lightsaber in the park today was a little shorter than the usual guy. He also seemed far more confident in his swordwork, though, running through Form III patterns as though he'd only just done them yesterday. Which... well... he had.

He also appeared to have a little bit more pink in his braid than he had yesteray morning. And a blue streak in the rest of his hair. And it was possible that he was keeping his eyes closed as he worked through his forms at least in part because his braid kept swinging into view and it was just so pink. Like... bright pink. Like Caleb had a Zeltron sparring partner back at the Temple who would have been jealous of that hair.

Was it possible to have buyer's remorse on stubbornness? Caleb might have had buyer's remorse on stubbornness, because he never would have let Rosa Emily put so much color into his hair otherwise. And his Master was either going to lecture him or laugh at him or both in equal measures once she was out of the bacta and she saw this, and the hair wasn't even the strangest part of his yesterday.

He spun on his heel, bringing his lightsaber down and forward, his dog (he still wasn't convinced Stance wasn't just a super weird wolf) watching intently from where he was sitting by a bench, as he waited for Tip to arrive for her Friday sword practice, like she had said she would.

It was a good thing that Caleb had taught her to make her own tea, since the only place here resembling a tea house was in fact a coffee house and didn't serve tea. The staff had claimed that something called 'hot leaf water' was the same thing, but that obviously wasn't true.

Issa the cat had wanted to go to the park, so that was why she and Seivarden were here. Mostly, although Seivarden didn't mind, it was a pleasant enough place, and it was fun to see the cat stalk the birds in the pond. The small ones, not the big pink ones, which seemed aggressive.

Her hair glittered in pink and purple. It had taken a while to get it right, but it did look nice, and even better in daylight. The communication device she had found also took pictures and she was taking a few of herself, thinking her sister might want to see.

This whole place was terribly uncivilized, with terribly uncivilized people and it was quite exciting!

Parker had been the only one to sleep in the house last night. She was going to have to track down that radio podcast and find out where her quasi-also-kidnapped-roommates had gotten to. Not that she cared exactly. But it was good to know where your fellow squatters were.

The kitchen staff had given up on trying to keep her out of the freezer, so this morning she was having ice cream on top of her cereal.

SPECIALS
Frozen Banana Bites
Chewy chocolate cookies
Won Ton Soup

Luke's was open. Some people felt they deserved raises.

Liam had been late for work today. This was mostly because Liam had no idea he had a job. But he'd been out for a walk and then some random lady had started complaining to him about raccoons, and then demanded he walk her to the police station so she could file a formal complaint.

A little bewildered, he'd done as she asked, only to be met with a collective... sigh of relief? From the Troopers in the station when he walked in.

"Oh good, you're here." One of them said, putting a hand on Liam's shoulder and pushing him gently towards a desk.

What. Was going. On????

Hera should probably have been watching over Caleb, but he seemed to be able to take care of himself, and Fandom was far from a warzone. So she was at the scrapyard trying to distract herself from wanting to hold him and keep him safe.

Mostly that distraction consisted of trying to figure out how to distract the biting bits so they'd stop trying to gnaw through their corral. They hadn't even gotten close to managing, but honestly she felt bad for the things if they were at all sentient, so she was testing various mobile-like rigs to see if they were interested.

So far they mostly seemed interested in biting them. It was progress?

The scrapyard was open!

Well, Steve and Tony were apparently hosting a cookout tonight! They had far too many kinds of soda and a keg if you asked nicely and didn't tell Steve and far too many kinds of chips...

And hot dogs, because you couldn't kill people if you accidentally undercooked a hot dog. Hopefully their friends were better at the culinary arts because they were reallllly not.

The music was loud and from the 70s and 80s (at Tony's insistence) and the grill was probably four times as complicated as it needed to be! Come party like it's 1980 something! Or 1930 something!

Eliot hated this island. He hated whatever sicko had decided to kidnap three random teenagers and throw them into a bed together, and he hated the two other teenagers who'd gotten kidnapped, and he hated all the other random teenagers running around this weird-ass creepy place, and he really, really hated that all of those things had made him completely lose his cool yesterday.

So in the grand tradition of moody teen dramas set in coastal towns, he was moping on the beach, glaring at the ocean. There was probably even going to be rock throwing, too.

He'd spent his entire life wanting to escape his tiny Oklahoma town, and when he finally did it turned out he just brought all that terrible along with him.

How fucked up was he.

[can be open, certainly!]

As usual, Ezra was unaware of anything odd going on on the island. In his view, it was best to assume something or other would be weird whenever he got here, and just go from there. 'Weird' was relative when you were a werefox, anyway.

He was here on a whim.

And he was contemplating another one, right this moment, standing outside his former place of employment: whether to go in for some candy, or not. Yes, he lived a life full of very difficult and grave decisions. Obviously.

Miguel had come to the diner again to eat, but they were insisting he work again. And he was refusing, because that made no sense.

Which was how he ended up brewing his own coffee and scowling at the staff as they worked, occasionally loudly insisting that whatever they were doing, they were doing it wrong.

Weirdly, they seemed to be okay with that.

Today's Specials:
Peanut butter and jelly french toast
Chili cheese fries
Chocolate milkshake
If your name was on here the other day, you can get whatever you want today for free!

If they were going to make him make the sign, he was putting on it what he wanted.

Luke's was open!

[OOC: SP warning from me for a bit; spa day!]
