Covent Garden Flowers, Wednesday

Peter read the note Astrid had left for him, then checked the meowing plants. They were purring in a sleeping rhythm, so he left them to it and cleaned up the saucer of milk. Then moved the dogwood back to the front where it belonged and ordered it to stay.

He'd see how long that lasted.

Nate unlocked the front door and let the raven in. It was weird Kaidan wasn't here, but he had said he might not be down right away so Nate turned on the lights and booted the computer on the counter to see if they had any reservations. They had two, but not for an hour or so. He spent some time going through the box of random cables under the counter, folding them and banding them into small bundles instead of the giant tangle they were in.

The raven, for his part, patrolled back and forth on the glass of the counter, watching both the storefront and the 'Employee Only' door with equal attention.

Pick Your Poison, Wednesday

Sparkle came in to work today twenty minutes late and immediately set to cleaning the place.

It didn't need much in the way of cleaning, but didn't today seem like a good day to just, like, deep scrub the floors?

Sure did.

Pick Your Poison was open, and it had a door open because otherwise someone was going to get high on cleaning solution fumes, and that was not actually the goal here today.

Groovy Tunes, Wednesday

The Silence was back, and Breq sighed. The creature sat inte the middle of the room, staring at her, and after making herself some tea - unlike some people she found teabags acceptable - Breq began humming to herself. No sound was heard of course, but she took some satisfaction in that whatever the Silence was, it couldn't take away the songs she could recall in her mind, and she had plenty of those.

So she kept humming, and the Silence kept glaring, and should any customers stop by, they would have to buy whatever they wanted without hearing it first.

The Park, Wednesday Evening

Seivarden had deliberately avoided today's event, and was happy not to know who had won that horrible fish-thing. Well, she would hear about it on radio tomorrow no doubt, but until then she was blissfully ignorant.

Now she was in the park with Issa, and the cat was sitting under a bush. It could be because of the heat, or because her friend wasn't here to play with her, or because she had found something particularly interesting there. As long as the cat didn't start wailing or decided to climb a tree, Seivarden was going to sit on a bench and enjoy her tea.
