Furnado Animal Shelter; Thursday [11/01].

Another great thing about having a small, adorable animal for the biology lesson that day was that they were far easier to transport back to the shelter, taking far less of Sidon's energy and effort to get them back home. Not that he ever really had a lack of energy, of course, but with all the animals riled up for their exciting shenanigans throughout the week, Sidon found he needed every ounce of energy he had just to keep them under control.

"But you've already had your turn," he told the puppies that were very eager to let him know that it was time for them to go back and play in Zack's office again by practically climbing up into Sidon's arms at nearly every opportunity. "It's time to let other animals play up at the school! But I must say, your enthusiasm is inspiring and terribly admirable, so perhaps I can make it up to you with extra treats today, how's that sound?"

And, with an added whisper: "Just don't tell the vet."

He didn't need another reprimand about how just because something can eat more doesn't necessarily mean they should.

The Perk, Thursday Morning

So, he had a place to stay and a newspaper that no one here had apparently ever heard of to work for.

Run by deer.

We could go back to San Francisco. Back to Anne. We like Anne, Venom whispered in his brain.

"This is called movin' on, buddy," Eddie muttered into his disgustingly sweet mocha drink, only purchased to make the parasite happy. "It's healthy."

Venom sighed, clearly not pleased with that response, but settled in to rest. At least, that's what Eddie assumed he was doing to continue recovering from the near miss with Riot and not, like, eating a kidney or something.

"Just. Gotta give the place a chance," he said, looking out the window for some tried and true people watching.

Covent Garden Flowers, Thursday

So maybe Eddie hadn't been wrong about the 'regret' part of the jello shot ingredient list. Octavia had over-indulged, and now she was paying for it with a massive headache and an unwillingness to look at some of the brighter flowers directly. Which was difficult, because she needed to use some of them for the arrangement she was working on. Very, very slowly working on.

Also the smell of the store was just... How had she never really noticed before how strong it was?

Still, in a roundabout way, she welcomed the suffering. It was a nice change from the more mental types of anguish she'd been stuck with for the past couple of weeks. She was uncomfortable, but at least the bodily discomfort kept her focus on the here and now.

Covent Garden Flowers was open. Please refrain from making loud noises. (Magnus, this means you.)

Hernando was pleased and more than a little touched to see that the shop had swapped Halloween decorations for Día de Muertos. Fancy skeletons and highly decorated skulls with jeweled eyes had replaced cobwebs and bats.

Even the baked goods had been elaborately decorated with piped icing, crystal sugars and occasionally even a tiny sugar skull.

The sign rattled. It was decorated in bright pink, purple and blue.

Community Center Class: 21st Century Social Media, Thursday Evening [11/01].

Summer had almost canceled class...again. She felt a little bad about it, though, and then, suddenly, brilliance struck her, and she realized she could do what every lazy ass teacher she'd ever had in high school had done probably countless times because they felt like she did: just out of it and completely disconnected with the idea of teaching.

MOVIE DAY!

She kind of felt a little dumb that she hadn't thought of it earlier, though.

"Hey, guuuuuys." Renewed and re-energized, she beamed as everyone got settled. "Soooo, sorry that the last few weeks have been a little screwy, what with school trips and random illnesses, dead loved ones and me being a squirrel. But we're going to get back into the swing of things, but I thought maybe we should ease into it a little, which is why we're having a movie day. And this is a movie that just came out this year, and it's very topical, and shows just how pervasive social media can be in current society, and how one man navigates through that tangled web in an attempt to find his daughter.

"Another fun and relevant fact about this movie," she added brightly, as she went to pull the movie up on her phone and hook it up to the projector screen at the front of the room, then bounced over to the door to kill the lights, "is that it technically isn't released for home viewing yet, not until later this month! But that's another great thing about the internet that might be maybe a little bit possibly slightly illegal...you can download anything!"

But you wouldn't download a car.

"We call that piracy," she added with the sweetest, most innocent smile. "Enjoy the movie, guys, and maybe we'll share our thoughts at the end, too."
