Well.

At least the rift Wayne fell into on the way to the scrapyard for his shift after his class took him somewhere he liked quite a bit better than the last one. Because there was just something really nice and familiar about a place that had a farm that was inexplicably prosperous and where half the town's population had a keen interest in wanting to be with him. It was enough to almost make him homesick, especially once he found himself sent right back to Fandom, but at least it had the decency to drop him off where he was going, even if it did make him pretty late, and he didn't much care for that.

He did have an armful of parsnips, cauliflower, and starfruit when he wound up back in Fandom, just standing there a little dazed for a moment as he wondered what he was going to do with all this produce while he was here. Save it for later, he s'posed, the bitey bits weren't going to eat it, but, luckily for them, he had a pocket full of quartz that he'd been saving up to give to his girlfriend back in Stardew Valley, because she ate that shit right up.

Literally.

She literally ate rocks.

Or it was just an elaborate joke she made every single time, no one really knew for sure, but he supposed that was at least one thing that was a bit different from Letterkenny.

Also, Wayne was sort of wondering how he'd managed to be gone from the island for only about an hour or so and yet still managed to have enough time in Stardew Valley to romance someone to the point where she'd been his girlfriend, and if he went and got himself a girlfriend in an alternate dimension that he might never actually get to again, did that mean he still had a girlfriend here, or was that sort of an automatic break-up thing, going back to your original dimension, probably for good?

And that, he concluded, is why you didn't fuck with multiple dimensions. If you could entirely help it.

Anywayyyyy....Syndulla Scrap is open!

[[ literally all my characters are ending up in Stardew Valley in some way, shape, or form, but it's okay, I don't have a problem, this isn't a desperate cry for help or anything...*whistles* ]]

Kitty had been in a good mood upon getting back. She'd spent a week at home, reconnecting with people she never thought she'd be able to reconnect with, and she didn't even have to deal with the island cockblocking her (unrelated). And now she was trying to make sure Lexi didn't crawl into another dimension unsupervised and she didn't know what was going on in the bar tonight but by the look on Toni's face when he came out of the storage room, Kitty was going to avoid that altogether.

So that's how today was gonna be. Kitty would do her best to make sure your drinks ended up in your hands tonight.

Honestly, by this time, there was no point in denying that Iris had the new Taylor Swift CD on preorder or that as soon as each song came out, she had to listen to it. 'ME!' had been a lot of fun (the cat daughters still made her laugh) and 'You Need To Calm Down' hadn't really been her sort of song, but she got how important it was to a lot of folks and it was an awful lot of fun to sing…

But 'The Archer' had just come out and Iris was back to mulling over how, time and time again, somehow Taylor Swift just seemed to know how her and Zack's relationship was going?

It was honestly kind of eerie.

Which wasn't going to stop her from wandering through the park—carefully, since she'd gone through two rifts that morning—but and singing softly along to it, "I wake in the night, I pace like a ghost…

"The room is on fire
Invisible smoke
And all of my heroes
Die all alone
Help me hold onto you…
"

It really was eerie. And gorgeous. And left her feeling a bit sad.

[Why yes, yes this IS me writing a post around a song that came out literally two hours ago, shush. And go listen to it, it's amazing, I'm not biased AT ALL HONEST. :D Also post open!]

Well. Summer had gone ahead and met the Mysterious Pink Coat Guy for steamed buns and sake...or, at least, she tried to. It turned out that that particular conbination, especially with what the island was going through at the moment, was a little difficult to come by, and Summer was absolutely not taking Shunsui up on his suggestion that they grab the steamed buns and relocate to his apartment for the sake, because what century was this guy even from where he thought weird old dudes bringing young women they'd just met to their apartments was even remotely an okay option? But, while they were standing there, working out the logistics of this supposed business meeting, the island opened itself up in a rift around them and landed them right smack dab in the middle of some dark and creepy mine.

A mine that was crawling with slimes.

Slimes that Shunsui, even though he was the one with the weapons right now, didn't want to hurt because he thought they were "cute."

CUTE!

"Yeah, okay, dude, whatever," said Summer, exasperated, as she watched Shunsui just go ahead and pick up one of those slines and start cooing at it. "Do whatever you want with the slimes, but can we at least take care of the super creepy shadow men coming at us right now?"

That, at least, seemed to get Shunsui started, and Summer, who didn't feel much like just sort of standing there and letting the man do all the fighting, managed to somehow convince him to let her take one his two swords and they spent a good deal of the time vanquishing anything that wasn't slime (okay, okay, so maybe Summer killed a few of them when Shunsui wasn't looking. What? They were definitely going to attack her, okay?), and in the midst of all that, they got to talking, because what else were they going to do? They were trapped in a monster-filled mine with no way yet of knowing how to get back to Fandom. And really, after Apu had built it up so much, all it really seemed like was that Shunsui wanted a job. Well, wanted was using the term losely, he mostly just needed it to provide a reason on why he would even be there, Summer wasn't going to ask too many questions, but, yeah, if all he wanted was a job, she had more than enough space for another employee.

The monsters cleared, covered in all sorts of unidentifiable gunk, Summer and Shunsui slumped on the wall, took a seat to rest a little, while Shunsui sang songs and recited poetry to his new slime friends and offered to name one after Summer, an offer that SUmmer appreciated but would politely ask that he maybe not.

And then, just like that, they were back on the island, in Turtle & Canary specifically. Summer. Shunsui. Apu...

...and about two dozen of those slime things.

"Oh, well, that's just great!" said Summer, watching as the slimes made absolutely no delay in clearly making the shop their home as she stood up and tried to wipe some monster gunk off her hands on her pants, and her attention shifted to Shunsui. "You want a job, huh? Well, you can start today by taking care of all these slimes, since you're the one who loves them so much."

Apu, confused, but starting to piece things together, opened his mouth to say something but Summer, on her way to grab a towel from off the shelf, cut him off. "Just don't ask, Apu. Just don't ask!"
