Keyleth had a cup of coffee in her hands when she came in today. She'd been steadily sipping at it since she bought it half an hour ago, and it was half gone by the time she arrived at work.

Where the flowers were singing again, this week, only they seemed to be doing bawdy old drinking songs in five-part harmony. At least, she would guess they were bawdy drinking songs; something about them just sounded like the kind of thing that would make her get kind of flaily and embarrassed.

At least if the tips of her ears were a bit red today, it wasn't all that noticeable against her hair?

[OOC: Yeah, IDK. Post open, SP pretty much a guarantee today.]

Another Friday, another training session in the park. And if there were more people on the island than usual today, Kanan really wasn't thinking much of it. After the summer the island had had? For all he knew, they could be here to deal with insurance claims or something.

Yes, he was aware that was an uncharacteristically optimistic way of thinking about it, but really, he just wanted to run lightsaber forms in the park without thinking too hard about who might stop by to spectate.

... And if he was running through his most familiar Form III patterns, well, it was because he was still well aware that someone might stop by to spectate.

So.

[OOC: This is going to be my only post today and I'll be catching sporadic phone ping replies but Friday In The Park is tradition now dammit. Open, if slow!]

"So, like, what's the verdict on furniture, you guys??????????????????????" Nina called as she entered the shop.

Silence answered her.

"You know, like, if you haven't come up to an agreement yet that's totally fine??????????????????" she ventured as she went about turning on lights and booting up the register. "While you guys are still working on that you can also let me know how you all feel about Owen's idea about a 'book zoo' which, to me, still totally------------"

No, no, she didn't want to influence them too much, though she could tell that she had their attention now. It was still silence, but it was a listening sort of silent.

"Anyway," she said, "you let me all know how you feel about that too, okay???????????????"

Nina hated the idea. Giving the books some say over their temporary home was one thing. Deliberately setting it up so people could come and gawk at them was totally different.

She set the sign back in the window:

NOW HIRING!!!!!!!!!!!
Inquire within!

"I've got research to do," she finished cheerfully, "so if you need me to pull more catalogues for you all, just let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The Bookbelt is Open!!!!!!!!!!!!

When one's girlfriend was temporarily a bird and one happened to work in a place that sold a multitude of fun and interesting things to catch the fancy of such fine feathered friends, naturally one would bring said girlfriend with him to his place of work! And Sidon was going to make sure that Vette had the absolute best little outing to the shelter, pulling out all the stops and little swings and ladders and ledges and bells and whistles and habitats and what have you, to give Vette the full run of it all, although she did have to share with the other birds, but maybe she'd have fun spending time with and getting to know them as well.

Although she did take advantage of it a little bit (it was probably nice to have something a little different to hop around than her bedroom for a change), Sidon was pleased to see that she mostly seemed content to just stick close to him and spent a good portion of the time still on his shoulder or on the counter when he worked.

Granted, that might have been because that meant being nearer to the change of clothes he'd had Nina pick out just in case she turned back, but Sidon liked to think maybe it had a little to do with just spending more time with him, as well.

"I do rather think," he said, at one point, because he couldn't help himself, "that this absolutely puts me ahead for dates!

"Don't give me that face!" he laughed as that suggestion inspired almost exactly the sort of response he'd expected. "I was only just joking, of course, but I absolutely do think we must go out once you're back to yourself again. Just think of how behind on the quota we're getting now!"
