The Perk; Sunday Morning [01/26].

Look, Summer didn't want to go so far as to say that going to the Perk on Sunday mornings was a new thing for her--it was definitely not Sunday Pancakes, and nothing would ever be Sunday Pancakes, so she wouldn't even try to make it Sunday Pancakes--but evidence was definitely starting to point toward a trend.
Whatever. It gave her a little something to do and sort of helped her try to keep down that itch of wondering how things were going back out in space. An itch that got so bad sometimes that she thought about just hopping into her ship and heading back herself, but that was a pretty big no-go since her ship was kiiiiind of recognizable.
Which was why, as she settled down with a drink at a table with the intention of dicking around on her phone for a bit, she wound up texting her granpa to ask him what it might take to convince him to let her borrow one of his cloaking devices.
Nothing, he texted back. You can't. You're dumb, your ship is dumb, that universe is dumb, so there's no way I'm lending anything of mine to something that is basically the ultimate magnitude of dumb.
Excuse Summer while she tried not to let her eyes roll just right out of her head.
Gee, thanks, grampa rick. love u too.
Ugh, family was the worst.
