"Wait, no, Boots! Hold still! Just one sec--hey! Wait! Socks! Come back with that! I need that!"

One would think that a few weeks wrangling birds into hats would prepare Prompto better for this sort of thing, but it appeared as though his attempts to take measurements of all the puppies and their heads for their Puppy Bowl helmets was turning out to be quite the event in and of itself. Between puppies that would rather lick his face and squirm around than stay still and a pair of cats who kept sneaking off with his tape measure, Prompto was going to be fully convinced to scratch 'Animal Fashion Designer' off his list of potential careers to pursue in case this whole Crownsguard thing fell through.

Which waas kind of a bummer. If you couldn't have a job that was super cool, it would have been nice to have one that was super cute.

"Buddy! No! Those are my notes, not food!"

Did they allow dogs inside the Perk? Did Rosa care? Not really. And since no one working that day seemed to think it was worth arguing with Rosa about it either way, it didn't really matter.

But Rosa needed to do something. Baby Linetti was back, which meant her cat was back, which meant that Anna Pavlova was going mad trying to figure out a way to get through the wall separating their apartments so she could go play with her friend. Honestly, Rosa was just glad her dog was too dumb to figure out a way to just get up into the vents.

So they needed to get out of the apartment, but the weather today wasn't exactly very condusive for walkies, and so they wound up at the Perk. Which was working surprisingly well, because Anna was quiet and settled underneath Rosa's table, dedicatedly licking at the bottom of a cup that hadn't contained anything for a good thirty minutes, and Rosa had a big black coffee (that didn't even taste like something else for once) and a book, and it was actually really nice.

...for now, anyway.

It was that time of year again - the time when Hannibal had to sit down and work out how to claim jobs in multiple worlds on his taxes. Some of the documents weren't even remotely compatible. He refused to use software to make it easier, though; this was actually something of a challenge, and he adored a challenge.

In between waiting for and speaking with his patients, of course. Most of them were not at all challenging.

"Right," Duke said, looking around at the various coolers in Luke's kitchen. "So, last week. When I said 'what did you catch?' That wasn't, like, a challenge or anything. I was just being a dick."

"I knew that," Ali said, giving Greg and Tony superior looks. "You were a total dick."

Duke sighed. "Not actually an invitation to call me a dick, Ali." He rubbed his forehead. "Right, so. We've got tuna, crab, and -- what'd you get, Tony?"

"Octopus!"

". . . Like, the edible kind, or the fancy pretty kind that can kill you?"

Tony blinked. "Uhhhhhhhhhh. . . ."

"I mean," said Greg. "He's not dead."

"Right," Duke said. "So probably not blue-ringed octopus. I guess we can just go from there, then."

The Valentine's Day season was well and truly underway at Covent Garden today. And this year, Octavia didn't mind it as much, for some curious reason - although she still minded it a bit, because it was a ridiculous holiday that somehow managed to be even more ridiculous when you came at it from the point of view of a flower shop employee.

But if nothing else, at least it kept her busy all through the day. All manner of orders were streaming in, from the mundane (a dozen red roses) to whatever the hell this extravagant and outlandish order she was taking over the phone was.

"... Are you the guy that wanted the rose skull thing for Halloween?" she asked after about five minutes of complicated and detailed description from the other end of the line. "Well. At least you're getting it in earlier, this time."

She still wasn't sure even a week was a long enough time for prepping and building what he was asking for this time, though.
