Nina didn't, like, quite know how the books had discovered she'd written basically a novel for her class (and it was a terrible, terrible novel but she loved it fiercely) but today, like, they were..........

"Like, really," she said, leaning over to look at Getting Your Book Published for Dummies and Self-Publishing for Dummies, "I think I'm, like, good thanks????????????????????"

The books shuffled around insistently.

"And, like, I'm sure there's references out there that don't insult me in the title?????????????????"

The books paused.

"That's right," Nina scolded them, "you think about that for a bit while I get things open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Miguel got a cup of coffee and let them argue about it until he couldn't take it anymore.

"Look, let's just go with the classics, okay?" He held up a hand to stifle arguments.

It was a grey and boring sort of day, and for once, Lucifer had no quick escapes to the city planned - though his car was waiting out in the parking lot in case he changed his mind. Instead, he was stuck on the island. He'd spent the morning alone in his home, which had made him sad in a way that made him deeply uncomfortable, and--

Well. He'd had his fill of the extreme shakes for now.

"Hello," he said, sweeping into Chilly Boulder's with a grin and a wink for the lady behind the counter. "I'll have a Ben Skywalker, please."

Copious amounts of ice cream would surely fix everything.
