The weather this year had been, for Sidon, wonderfully mild and temperate and free of freezing cold and snow, and so, naturally, he had been oh-so-handwavily been taking great advantage of it whenever he could. Sure, the water was still significantly more chilly than what he would have preferred, but he didn't spend several years in this place building up a tolerance to colder climes for nothing!

And today was no exception. He'd done a few good circuits around the island, then ventured out further to have a most excellent lunch out in the depths and catch up with some of his dolphin friends, and then it was back for a few more rounds. Feeling both exhilarated and exhausted by the well-spent morning, he wound up near the lighthouse to pop his head up out of the water, breathe in that enchantingly brisk seaside air, and just enjoy it a moment before he planned to hop out of the water and head over to the onsen to warm up again before returning to the dorms.

And that was when something struck him unexpectedly on the back of his head. Startled, Sidon whipped around to see a trio of woodchucks on the shore, giggling at the results of their well-aimed log. Amid Sidon's startled surprise, they continued their fits of giggling as they lobbed another out toward the Zora prince. That one, Sidon was able to quickly dodge, and the third?

Well!

The third, Sidon caught, and those giggles died away pretty quickly with the sight of that bright, eager, shiny toothy grin. "Ah-ha!" Sidon declared. "And now the tables will have turned!"

He promptly volleyed it back with a mighty heave, sending it soaring toward the center of the cluster of woodchucks, who went scampering out of the way. "Oh, come now!" Sidon laughed. "We've only just begun! Have at me, little woodland creatures, show me the best you've got!"

The woodchucks appeared to exchange an uncertain glance, then shrugged, and, taking up more conveniently nearby logs, resumed chucking them into the water at the strange creature out there, who went between dodging and catching, throwing the logs back with great guffaws of his own and a significant amount of affirmations regarding the pure skill and acumen in which the woodchucks were chucking their wood.

"Delightful! Excellent throw! Try and see if you can get my headtail this time! Wonderful!"

This...could probably go on for a while.

[[ you know who's been neglected lately? This guy. Who needs to change that? This gal. So very, very open! ]]

Yasha still hadn't been able to make her way off the island, and she was beginning to get frustrated by it. No, never mind that, she was already definitely frustrated by it. She'd take this kind of frustration over the previous week's, but there was still a persistent itch that felt like it was just beneath her skin and it was making her just a little bit twitchy.

Okay, more than a little bit twitchy.

Finally, in a fit of failing a wisdom check with a low DC because that happens a lot when you have a negative modifier exasperation she called Beau (she was still getting the hang of text messages, and could never remember where the messaging app was in the first place) to see if she'd be up to sparring for a bit. The answer was, unsurprisingly, yes ... or "hell fucking yeah," to be more accurate.

So they'd picked out a stretch of the beach -- the sand would slow them down, but theoretically in the long run it would work out to their benefit when they got that unarmored speed improvement in three levels, and the area was generously scattered with rocks just to make things interesting. It wasn't the first time they'd gone up against each other before, but as Beau had pointed out, for once it wasn't because one of them had gotten hit with a charm effect, so that would be new.

Anyway, it was a good bout: back and forth, just about evenly matched as always, Beau making up with agility and precision for where Yasha had her outmatched in terms of sheer brute force. Despite Beau's best efforts to talk her into it, Yasha had opted to not go into a battle rage, reminding her that they weren't trying to kill each other here and she'd really rather not accidentally carve Beau into pieces because she had a really fucking huge sword. Besides, if she'd been raging, she couldn't really enjoy this.

... which was a bit of a mixed result, really, but still.

[OOC: Just trying to shake myself out of a slump here, really, but can be open for either/both of them, if you don't mind me being suuuuuuuuper slow today.]

By now Rey could definitively say that drinking was dumb and she didn't need to do it (lol okay) because yesterday had not been fun.

Today though she felt fine, even if she was sure the gremlin was hammering on something just to see if he could make her cringe. It wasn't working, so mostly she kept throwing confused glances its way while doing her own work and wondering if she was making this up. They had a better relationship than that, right?

[So late but open.]
