Near the Beach by the Lighthouse; Sunday Afternoon [02/23].
Sunday, February 23rd, 2020 07:06 amThe weather this year had been, for Sidon, wonderfully mild and temperate and free of freezing cold and snow, and so, naturally, he had been oh-so-handwavily been taking great advantage of it whenever he could. Sure, the water was still significantly more chilly than what he would have preferred, but he didn't spend several years in this place building up a tolerance to colder climes for nothing!
And today was no exception. He'd done a few good circuits around the island, then ventured out further to have a most excellent lunch out in the depths and catch up with some of his dolphin friends, and then it was back for a few more rounds. Feeling both exhilarated and exhausted by the well-spent morning, he wound up near the lighthouse to pop his head up out of the water, breathe in that enchantingly brisk seaside air, and just enjoy it a moment before he planned to hop out of the water and head over to the onsen to warm up again before returning to the dorms.
And that was when something struck him unexpectedly on the back of his head. Startled, Sidon whipped around to see a trio of woodchucks on the shore, giggling at the results of their well-aimed log. Amid Sidon's startled surprise, they continued their fits of giggling as they lobbed another out toward the Zora prince. That one, Sidon was able to quickly dodge, and the third?
Well!
The third, Sidon caught, and those giggles died away pretty quickly with the sight of that bright, eager, shiny toothy grin. "Ah-ha!" Sidon declared. "And now the tables will have turned!"
He promptly volleyed it back with a mighty heave, sending it soaring toward the center of the cluster of woodchucks, who went scampering out of the way. "Oh, come now!" Sidon laughed. "We've only just begun! Have at me, little woodland creatures, show me the best you've got!"
The woodchucks appeared to exchange an uncertain glance, then shrugged, and, taking up more conveniently nearby logs, resumed chucking them into the water at the strange creature out there, who went between dodging and catching, throwing the logs back with great guffaws of his own and a significant amount of affirmations regarding the pure skill and acumen in which the woodchucks were chucking their wood.
"Delightful! Excellent throw! Try and see if you can get my headtail this time! Wonderful!"
This...could probably go on for a while.
[[ you know who's been neglected lately? This guy. Who needs to change that? This gal. So very, very open! ]]
