Nothing particularly exciting was going on at the flower shop. Seivarden made tea. She made a few flower arrangements. She drank tea. She rearranged the flower pots. She adjusted the waterflow in the fountain. She sat down behind the counter and drank some more tea. Repeat this. That was her day. It was boring, yes. Seivarden was trying to decide whether she wanted something to happen or whether she should just approach this as a very boring watch in gate space.

Covent Garden Flowers was open.

Breq got the stereo to play some of her favourite Radch songs, as well as a few Valskaayan ones. That was unexpected. By now she was used to it being uncooperative, and this was a pleasant surprise. She poured herself a glass of water and sat down behind the counter, following along the melodies, wondering where the stereo had got the recordings from. She didn't recognise any of them, and some of the details that differed from the versions she was used to made her smile. Should anyone show up she would be happy to help them though, and probably introduce them to Radchaai and Valskaayan music.
