"I didn't order these." Seivarden informed the person at the other end, as she called to complain about the new delivery. "Who the fuck wants three boxes of snapdragons?"

Seivarden wasn't even sure Amaya wanted three boxes.

The person in the other end offered apologies but unfortunately returning them was impossible. After a few colourful Radchaai curses Seivarden hung up, and put up a sign:

Free snapdragon for every non-aggressive plant you buy.

Groovy Tunes, Saturday

Maybe someone wanted to learn to play a new instrument this summer? In that case they would find a good selection set up at Groovy Tunes, and Breq spent the morning tuning the stringed ones, and changing strings on one or two that needed it. Out of curiosity she ended up trying out one of the violins, working through a beginners' class from YouTube. It might not have been the best way to attract customers, but she would stop playing if someone showed up.

Pick Your Poison, Saturday

Lucille was back in Fandom, and back at her old job at Pick Your Poison. She liked the place, and appreciated that Iris had immediately let start working here again.

The fresh and flowery scents of the summer season might not be her own personal preference, but they were pleasant, and could in no way bring back memories of Allerdale Hall. She made herself a cup of tea, trying a nice blend, and sat down, opening a book until a customer would arrive.
