The sign about the axe throwing competition was much, much bigger tonight because 1) the event was tonight and 2) Eric was just as petty about this as Lucifer was.

Covent Garden Flowers, Saturday

Today the flower store was like a rose garden. There were roses everywhere, in all colours, and nothing but roses. Seivarden chose a rose-scented tea; not something she drank often, but she would have the flavour in her mouth anyway, and put a sign in the window.

The scent was actually a little overwhelming, so she eventually left the door open and sat down on a chair outside with a cup of tea, watching people walk past.

Groovy Tunes, Saturday

Apparently someone was interested in buying a piano. An acoustic one, even, which was why Breq was trying to figure out how to tune it, and that wasn't as easy as she had first thought. Eventually she gave up - reluctantly - and rather than damaging the instrument she called a piano technician to make an appointment.

Rather than dwelling on this defeat, she decided to teach herself the basics of playing a piano, one of the instruments she hadn't played a lot. She ended up with a decent version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
