Yesterday Rey won free food by being badass. And of course, as a girl who'd literally been starving a year ago and whose kitchen was still stocked like a doomsday prepped, it took her all of one (1) day to take advantage of it.

But because she was also that person, before she went in she sent out a text:

I'm at moobyland if anyone wants anything

She hadn't gotten the impression over the years that there would be a lot of takers, but she'd make the offer anyway.

Eric had made Tiny move all of the plants blocking the view of the axe-throwing section, put up a sign on the door:

"FREE VODKA SHOTS FOR AXE-THROWERS"

And then poured himself a free vodka shot.

He'd make Tiny get anyone else one, too!

Luke's, Thursday

After spending a month not-quite-obsessively turning a fancy restaurant into a beachy bar, it was a bit strange for Duke to be back at the diner. It was very . . . diner-y in here. And his staff was being weirdly clingy.

"Thank god you're back," Mickey said, glomped onto Duke's waist.

"Wasn't I only gone for a week on your end?"

"He really thought your girl was going to kill us," Greg said. "It was a whole . . . thing."

"Right." Duke tried to extricate himself from Mickey's grip. Mickey seemed to grow extra arms just to thwart him. "Okay. Glad to be back. Ow. Ow. Bruises. Please stop. Okay." He shoved at Mickey's head, sort of resigned to his fate. "Okay. You jackass."

It takes a lot to distract Barry. Today he was very distracted. Jumpy even. He was totally neglecting any kind of work that needed to be done in the store and had shut down his experiments at the warehouse so as not to screw them all up.

Instead he was just sitting there trying to compute social actions and the effect they may have in the course of a conversation.

It really wasn't going that well.
