Beau would neither confirm nor deny getting into a heated debate about pumpkin spice with someone at the Perk this morning when she'd stopped in to grab some breakfast, but she had a very large cup of coffee -- devoid of pumpkin spice -- when she came in to work this morning.

When she picked it up to take a sip after wiping down all the equipment and flipping the sign to OPEN, that was ... very much not the case.

"Oh, come on," she grumbled, glaring at the coffee cup and the steam curling up off of it, now scented with cinnamon and cloves where it hadn't been ten minutes ago. "Like ... really? Wow, dude, wow."

The island, it seemed, was unmoved by her complaint. Not that this was anything new.

Not that Beau was going to throw it out or anything, because she wasn't wasting perfectly good caffeine. She was just going to sigh loudly after every sip.

[OOC: God, why am I awake. Gym/post open!]

Summer's first order of business when she got into the store that day was to make sure the whole candy situation had managed to balance itself out, which it had, which was good, at least until December when she was pretty sure something similar would happen, but probably with candy canes and chocolate Santas rather than candy corn and chocolate bars.

Her second order of business was to figure out whatever shenanigans Apu was going to dedicate himself to that day and put a stop to them, or at least rein them in a little, but there actually weren't any, and he was mostly just giving the store a good sweep for the day, so that was nice and easy.

Her third order of business was to check her emails and confirm with delight that some suppliers had gotten back to her and, why, yes, she was interested in beginning to stock their dairy products, which meant they would soon be adding purple and green milks to their shelves. Was there a demand for such colored milks? No. But thanks to a conversation she'd had, she now felt like she was being very proactive toward the moment when there might eventually be one.

All in all, a pretty good day, as she set to the fourth order of business which was...actual orders. The Squishy flavors weren't even weird, which was always just a nice little extra on a decent day.

Rosa was catching up on a few things with radio and one of her squirrel infomrants, and couldn't help being vaguely amused by the news on what the good old FPD was up to.

"All that?" she scoffed, mostly to herself although technically it could have been to the squirrel, but she'd sort of forgotten he was even there still. "Just to find a missing mask? God, I'm glad I got out of there in time to avoid wasting my time with that kind of crap..."

Then she turned her attention back to her computer and her current active case, which involved tracking down a recipe for that one specific kind of muffin that one of her Baltimore contacts really loved that they apparently stopped making at the Perk, which was clearly a much better use of her time, skills, and energy.

Diaz & Ass. is open!

Annie had made a great discovery tonight, in her quest to learn some damn bartending skills: any number of sins could be hidden with a blender.

Too much triple sec in that margarita? Add more tequila and ice and blend it up, it's fine.

Too much piña, not enough colada? Eyeball it, taste it, throw it in the blender and call it a day.

And, in fact, the daiquiri she'd made had ended up looking so much like a regular strawberry smoothie that Annie felt it was only right to add more rum, anyway, to avoid confusion.

Annie was willing to acknowledge that these were not exactly seasonally appropriate drinks, which was why she had eventually moved onto cider slushies. Now that she'd started using the blender, it was going to be A Thing tonight.

For absolutely no reason whatsoever Steve was in the Trooper Station today coming up with ideas for how to put a prisoner cage for raccoons into the back of a rickshaw.

You know, just in case they needed it.

Any time one of the Troopers offered an opinion on how good an idea this was, they were told to take a lap, so they'd resorted to writing up strongly worded memos to Liam instead.

The Trooper Station was open and industrious in a slightly terrifying way.
