Turtle & Canary; Monday [05/17].

So it had definitely been an interesting weekend for Summer, and not exactly in the usual ways that Summer had interesting weekends. It helped a lot that Annie seemed to be doing okay, all things considered, when she texted her yesterday, but she knew all too well how easy it could be to feign okay via text and she just really couldn't help feeling like she could be doing more for her friend right now.

But she also knew that sometimes you just needed space and time, and that there was a pretty good chance Annie wasn't going to be getting much of that at all as the fallout of the weekend got into full swing.

So it was definitely a listen-to-music-while-doing-inventory-and-orders kind of Monday for Summer and ignoring whatever it was Apu was doing, which, apparently, was hunting for mushrooms.

Apparently, pointing out that they were in the produce department where they'd always been was 'cheating'

Furnado Animal Shelter; Monday [05/17].

Sakaki definitely didn't expect she'd have the sort of luck and success she'd had last week of actually sending one of the animals at the shelter to a good home again this week, and she definitely didn't expect she'd have any luck with not being visciously attacked by the cats once she came in, but at least they generally tended to avoid her today and only really got bitey when she tried to say hello to them. Or pet them. Or feed them. Or smile at them. Or bring them toys. Or...just....exist...really...

Either way, part of her day was spent with the vet to learn a few new techniques (and get some first aid applied), and then the rest of it was helping out with some of the food and supplies, and then generally going around to every single one of the animals and giving them a proper introduction since she hadn't had the time to do so last week, making sure not to even think of leaving until she was positive she'd introduced herself to each and every one of them, which got a little tricky when it came to meeting the fish, but she thought she did a pretty good job of telling who was who!

Steve had missed work last week due to a slight case of...getting tortured (these things happened more often than he'd like), and then things had gotten complicated with Danny (which he was not thinking about) and then very messy for Annie (something he was also not thinking about because Google searching "how to kill a guy and leave no evidence" on a police computer was deeply, deeply stupid), so he was concentrating on things he could actually affect and that led to:

"Marksmanship practice time, guys," Steve said to the grumbling Troopers. "I'm going to win paintball this week."

Turned out that the Troopers couldn't aim for shit.

The Trooper Station was open! Watch out for flying paint.

Monday: Covent Garden Flowers

Nell was looking through online seed catalogues during her down time. So much of what she wanted was sooo expensive!

After a while she stumbled across a site where people bartered seeds for other seeds or goods. Now this was more up Nell's alley!

Since last week's special had been a success and she still had a few bottles left, Seivarden saw no reason to come up with a new special for tonight.

Tino seemed to have anticipated this, since he had brought a pair of gloves. Seivarden wasn't sure whether to interpret this as mocking or as an attempt to come across as civilised, but she gave him a compliment on his choice of colour in a tone that meant it could be interpreted as either politeness or an insult. Tino seemed flattered. Seivarden resisted the urge to facepalm.
