There was a stuffed toy cat on the bar today!

That's right, Cait was actually bothering to do his job. Which, to be fair, was mostly just him telling Tino what to do, being mostly ignored, and then him flicking beer nuts at Tino and telling him he would have to clean those himself because Cait wasn't going to do it.

And what did Tino even mean that it was Cait's fault there was a mess on the floor? He didn't know what Tino was talking about!

He was as innocent as the day he was born!

Not that he'd actually been born—he'd been made thank you very much--but the frustration on Tino's face? Priceless.

It would figure that the perfect storm between her two coworkers' (could the cheese panda be considered a coworker?) particular obsessions would collide together in one unholy union during Astrid's shift.

Because today, apparently, was National Cheese Day.

But maybe, between the panda's passion and Apu's dedication to decking the whole place out with cheese decorations (yes, that's right, cheese decorations), Astrid could just sort of hang back and let them revel in all the cheese-related festivities they wanted while she stuck behind the counter and maybe just helped herself to a nice brie in between customers.

They even had games, though she didn't know who might participate. But you could get 25% off your purchase if you managed to roll a giant wheels of various cheese down Aisle Handwavey, there was a 'Guess the Cheese!' game set up over in produce and the alcohol section featured a nice wine-pairing experience. But, most importantly, don't forget to grab a cheese bingo card!

Most of these seemed pretty harmless, but Astrid really wasn't sure transforming the Squishy machine into a fondue fountain was the best idea in the world.

Who'd spent most of Thursday on the mainland getting trashed and having mildly inappropriate sex with strangers? That would be Travis. Look, he needed to get past the whole 'randomly shirtless and trying to kiss everyone' thing somehow, okay? And he chose to do it by being shirtless and kissing people on purpose.

So it was a faintly hungover Travis manning the reception desk at the fire house today, for once not hoping for a fire to break up his boredom. Fires tended to be loud. Also bright. And he was not really looking to encounter either of those things right now.

Probie was very nicely spending her day napping or quietly shredding a fire manual in deference to his headache. (Or, well, he liked to pretend it was in deference to his headache, anyway.) Which was quite nice of her.

The flamingo who came in and started squawking and flapping its wings furiously, clearly trying to tell Travis something, though he had no idea what. . . . That was less nice.
