Apu-san was being....incredibly quiet that day. No outrageous displays. No insistence that it was a holiday for celebrating how many cracks were in your ceiling or canned fruit. Not even any complaints about the functioning of the Squishy machine or Astrid-chan's continued sup-par performance.

Some people might find this to be incredibly suspect.

Shunsui, however, merely saw it as an excellent opportunity to get i nsome of the best naps he'd had in the store since coming back.

Which said a lot, because he'd had an awful lot of good naps in this store, but uninterrupted by any of Apu-san's nonsense? ~Perfection~.

So, Astrid could definitely hear the music of the guitar-playing orchid coming from somewhere in the store that day, but when she looked around trying to locate him, she had no such luck, and it left her frowning a little, putting more focus onto the mystery than it probably deserved, if only because it was a good distraction from thinking about other things right now that she'd been starting to get a little antsy about.

The way she saw it, then, either the orchid was around here somewhere and was either very well hidden or quite possibly invisible, or, since she'd thought of the guitar-playing orchid recently and about how she hadn't seen him in a while, that created something in her mind that was now imagining the playing, and it was all entirely in her own head.

Both seemed entirely possible, and she didn't know quite how she felt about that fact.

Summer was honestly kind of hoping for a nice, normal night at the bar that Wednesday, especially following the events of last Wednesday, where the island was doing that thing, but she knew that was not going to happen very quickly into her shift, and that was all because of Tino's face.

"Seriously, though, why is your face like that? Is that supposed to be a smile? Why do you look like you totally just got--

"OhmyGOD.

"No, I don't want to hear the details! GOD."

Summer was going to try and work on the far side of the bar as much as possible tonight and was considering arming herself with a water bottle to spritz him with every time he passed by and tried to drop specifics in passing.

"You know what, Tino? On second though, I would at least like this lady's phone number so I can send her my condolances and recommend a good therapist."

Duke definitely hadn't just picked Wednesday for his first surfing of the year just to make sure he avoided the park on a Wednesday, but it was definitely a factor.

Mostly, though, he was just excited to get out into the water. Even if the waves were kind of tiny. Just meant that Octavia wouldn't have too much of a challenge on her first time out.

The club's playlist seemed to have decided on surf music tonight. Not that Octavia and her severe lack of genre knowledge would actually have been able to say as much. She could tell the music was probably the reason Tiny was updating the specials board, though:
