Considering how Fandom things usually went, Summer was actually a little surprised to come back that morning after a long weekend filled with therapy, all the fun things that went along with taking over a new business in a different dimension, and the fact that Jerry saying 'I'm handling the fireworks this year!' didn't immediately turn into a trip to the hospital, and hear that there were still people and buildings missing.

She was relieved, however, to discover that Turtle & Canary was not one of those buildings. Beause she would 100% not at all be surprised if the store fell down a hole and Shunsui completely failed to mention it to her.

She did, however, text Shunsui to see if he fell down a hole, and was disappointed to discover that he had not. But the confirmation text sent back would definitely be useful one day if she ever decided to pursue a harrassment lawsuit.

The day was then spent a little more focused on catching up with radio than catching up on her inventory, and also looking through the insurance papers to see what exactly the coverage was in the event of holes, and just generally wondering what might be done about them.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Technically speaking, this wasn't Rosa's job anymore. When shit got weird, she no longer had any obligation to invest even a second of her time dealing with it anymore. But there were people...buildings!....going missing, apparently falling down holes that no one else could locate after the fact, for a week now, and...well, it wasn't that she cared or anything like that, it was just that she had a building and was a person, so it was really just in her best interest to help try and figure out what was happening before any actual buildings (hers) and people she cared about (herself; Tightpants, too, probably, by proxy) were affected.

So she was using her time in her office that day, pouring over some information, seeing what pieces could be put together. Maps of the island, the fact that all this started when that donut place came in, radio transcripts. The usual. And if she happened to come across anything interesting, she supposed she'd take it to the library or the town hall (or, ugh, maybe even the trooper station), like you just did with these kinds of things.

If it weren't for the fact that she actually kind of enjoyed doing this crap, she might be a little pissed off about the fact that she was no longer getting paid to do this sort of thing.

Diaz & Ass. is open!

Sakaki kept mostly to herself, to an almost astonishing degree, so it wasn't all that surprising that she didn't really have much of an idea that anything too strange was going on. It definitely had affected the animal shelter, which was where most of her attention was going these days, so she was in a nice little bubble of ignorance, a bubble that involved enough problems of her own when it came to those cats and her inability to break through the barrier that prevented them from being friends.

But it was pretty quiet at the shelter that day, as Sakaki finished up the usual tasks and then settled behind the counter, engrossed in an article in an animal magazine entitled "10 Ways to Win Over Even the Most Unfriendly Cat."

She would, by the end of the day, try each and every one of those suggestions.

They would not work.

It was a good thing the vet had made sure to restock on all their supplies in the first aid kit.

Furnado is open!

Rey was still patrolling, and she hadn't figured anything out except that the holes didn't trigger any danger sense if they didn't happen around her, since she'd missed every time someone or something vanished. So that was great. It would have helped a ton if she didn't think this was all way more random than it actually was.

Did she stop in at the Perk for the sole purpose of trying to jinx herself, like maybe one would appear as soon as she had something she normally wouldn't want to spill, even if she wasn't actually drinking it? Yes. You never knew in this town.

Ice cream had definitely become a thing with the kid. Maybe it was a Force thing. One that had Din making the trip there every other day or so for Grogu to try a new flavor if he didn't attempt to eat a cicada.

Please stop trying to eat the cicadas, child. Please?

But this time, Grogu was in his little floating pod rather than the satchel as a nod to how hot this place had gotten. And that was probably why when the holes popped up, only Din fell into one despite his best efforts with the jetpack.

But both Mandalorian and ice cream shop were gone by the time it was over, leaving just one stubborn baby carriage hovering over a hole that was doing it's best to get the kid too before finally giving up after taking a fire hydrant instead.

So there.

[[establishy once again! But open to wonder where the ice cream store is]

Steve hadn't seen Danny since Saturday. That was fine. It was fine. He was in no way considering making the troopers dig holes to see what would happen.

Okay, he was considering it, but he wasn't doing it.

Yet.

Give him a couple of days.

"Okay," he said to Ralph, "I've been out of town. Catch me up on what's missing."

Ralph led him over to a map of the island, which was conveniently market with X's over the buildings that had disappeared when Calvin came in and put an X over the ice cream shop, too.

"Well," Steve said a little dryly, "we're starting to run out of take-out options."

He paused, looking at the crumpled up doughnut flyer on his desk.

"Can you guys track down who put these flyers out? Maybe they are taking out the take-out options."

Calvin asked a question.

"And then you can get more doughnuts."

The Trooper Station was open!

With everything Clint had been hearing on the radio lately, it seemed like a good idea to go patrolling, and the warehouses were the best place for him to get a good bird's eye view of as much space as possible. For most of the evening, things were quiet aside from the usual traffic of people, and he was almost ready to head back home when he realized the building next to him was rapidly sinking.

Despite his best efforts, and no shortage of grappling arrows, Clint fell into the hole along with two of the buildings. At least he'd managed to take abandoned ones with him and not anything valuable--though, maybe that wasn't a good thing after all.
