Well, Summer was a little bit late coming into the store that day thanks to an unexpected layover, apparently, but at least she came in with some new purchases from said layover (what? She was just supporting a friend's business over here, that's all!), and did make it in so that the usual Monday tasks could get done, and she was just going to try to hope this wasn't something that was going to turn into more of a thing, because they'd literally just gotten done with the holes, island, come on.

She was also staunchly chosing to ignore anything she'd texted to Rey yesterday that might have implicated her in whatever that was earlier that day.

Which was easy to do once she did get in and saw what Apu was working on.

"I don't care how much you mark them down," she informed him importantly, shaking her head with her disapporval as she made her way around the counter to store her bag from Dite's and start getting to work. "No one is buying donuts today."

Look, Steve had gone one entire day without being in the office! He was very proud of himself, once he got free from the sex shop.

And there was a sentence he never thought he'd think.

He arrived at the office to find a raccoon with a fake plastic police badge waiting for him, holding a squirrel by the scruff of their neck.

"You're still not a cop," he told the raccoon and made his best guess at what the chittering and paw waving meant. "You can't bring anyone in for drunk and disorderly."

More paw waving.

"I don't know if you can do a citizen's arrest either," he added.

The raccoon handed him a business card with a sniff. Steve looked down and snickered. "Yeah, yeah, not all raccoons. Cut the squirrel loose."

Caritas, Monday

Seivarden was lucky enough to have avoided layovers on her way to Caritas, but she was anyway in a bad mood when she got there, and Tino didn't make it better.

"Aatr's tits," she said to him. "I took some time off. Don't pretend this place was busy while I was gone. Was it even here?"

Tino didn't answer, but at this point someone walked up to the bar, smiling cheerfully, and ordered the special.

"What, I haven't...," Seivarden began, then saw what Tino had written on the menu.

Tonight's Special
Spiked Peach Iced Tea Cocktail

"Oh, fuck. No. No, that's not going to happen."

The customer looked confused.

"Today's special is beer," Seivarden told her firmly. "Anything made with tea, especially tea-bags, ask him." She pointed at Tino.
