Maybe...maybe if Tisarwat hadn't absolutely, totally, definitely been in the store a consistently as she definitely, totally, honestly and really had been lately (really!), she might understand why there would be so much paperwork for her to do. But she had been actually working very hard (and consistently!) at the store ever since she got back from the trip home, so it made no sense how a store that did barely any business managed to procure this much paperwork.

And to think, at one point, she actually wanted to just have some administrative desk job in the Radch before the Lord of it decided to go and hijack her brain! She in no way, shape, or form wanted to thank Anaander Mianaai for anything, but if there was anything she might consider doing it for, it was probably for ultimately saving her from that fate.

Although, really, she was sitting there, behind a counter, doing paperwork all the same, so what had she been saved from in the long run, really?

Well. At least the music was nice today...

Since Seivarden was having a guest that evening right around the time Ignis and Prompto rolled back into town for their class tomorrow, they agreed to make themselves scarce. Ignis probably would have preferred to use that time to go to the bar, but since he had Prompto tagging along (not that Prompto couldnt' find his own entertainment, of course, but it just seemed the thing to do something together), he thought of something a little more up to his compatriot's speed.

"You?" Prompto fairly gawked when Ignis revealed his master plan and they made their way up to the counter to get their shoes. "Ignis Scientia? Specs? Learned how to bowl?"

There was a faint trace of amusement in the cool, superior look that Ignis passed over to Prompto. "Well, I was stuck in a cavernous hole for several week," he reminded him. "Might as well learn something."

The response made a grin break out across Prompto's face, who had a new spring in his step as he got his shoes. "I cannot wait to see this in action!" he declared. "Even with pics, Noct is not even going to believe it!"

"I doubt you'll be telling him anything," Ignis responded. "You'll be far too embarrassed by how completely you're about to be destroyed to even think of it."

"Ohhhh," said Prompto, because, really, Ignis shit-talking was, like, always a cause for excitement and/or celebration, "you are on, my dude! You only wish you could crush pins like this guy!"

Well. It was nice to have that kind of spike in his ego while it lasted, anyway!

The Perk, Thursday morning

Yesterday had been something of a long day between the mud, the inescapable compulsion to tell the truth, and then looking for ways to prevent further talking.

Today seemed normal, island-normal at least, so far and after bike class Stark made his way to the Perk for something very cold, very caffeinated, and very sugary.

Once he had a cookie dough flavored frappucinno in hand he sat down at a table by the window and started scrolling through his phone. He was alternating between looking up ideas for birthdays and looking up cake (and cupcake) recipes. He needed both for this weekend!
