So maybe Steph was a little bit late opening up the store this morning, but in her defense she'd been up really late test-playing a new game system with Pixie, a friend from Seattle that she'd just recently gotten back in touch with, and it had turned out to be a hell of a lot of fun.

There was a package from Charlotte in the mail, and Steph grinned when she opened it to find a stack of the latest issue of Legendary Monster Hunter Thaynor, which she immediately set up on display on the New Arrivals shelf. Sure, it was a homemade comic written by a kid, but Ethan had some real talent and damn if she wasn't going to help keep encouraging that.

Maybe she should consider trying to find some kind of mentor for him? It was worth considering.

Had there been a spree of dead bodies turning up in parks and dazed chess-club teens wandering in late to their Baltimore homes on the mainland over the last week?

No. Why? Had you heard something? Probably had to do with Christmas, right? Or maybe the new year?

Laszlo for sure didn't know anything about any of this.

But he had had a very merry Christmas, all the same.

People still drank straight gin, right? "People drink gin, don't they?" Laszlo called to Tino as his hypnotized cameraman wrote out the special for him.

He got a shrug in return, and Laszlo took way too long (read: three-ish seconds) to decide that Tino probably tasted gross, anyway, and it wouldn't be worth it.

Liz had finally caught up on the backlog of emails and had unpacked all of the inventory she had to put away since the time loop and then going home over Christmas so now she was focusing her efforts on tidying up the store after everything had been put away.

If she was being honest, the store didn’t really need that much tidying but she found if she kept herself busy that she didn’t focus so much on everything else and so she was giving the store a thorough deep clean and was focusing her efforts on that for the day.
