Just as she had expected, Apu couldn't keep his snarky comments about it being pretty much the tail-end of turtleneck season to himself when Summer came in that day sporting one.

"Shut up, Apu," Summer countered, eloquently. "Obviously, it's just....International Turtleneck Day. Come on, man. Keep up."

To which he pointed out that there was no International Turtleneck Day, there was only National Turtleneck Day, and that was back in February, which only proved his point about her being woefully unfashionable right now, and Summer just rolled her eyes and declared, "Well, now there is one. May 15. Intergalactic Turtleneck Day. So there. I can make up stupid holidays, too."

Apu made it very clear that he did not honor her alleged authority in these maters, and staunchly went back to organizing a display of straw hats and nylon stockings instead.

Prompto was in a pretty good mood when he bounced down to the shop for work that Monday, still sort of riding the high of a very successful attempt to make Liz's first (totally handwaved) Mother's Day one of the best ones he could make it. It hadn't been perfect, of course; the mint chocolate cake he made and tried to decorate all faaancy like something he'd seen on the internet was a complete disaster, but she didn't seem to mind too terribly and it did taste pretty good even if it looked like a mess. And breakfast in bed, of course (classic!), and a lot of flowers and little gifts and a compiled album of pictures of her and Noctra over the past few months that had actually been a pretty daunting task not only because he was doing it in secret, but because there were....a lot of pictures of Liz and Noctra to have to sort through to find the best ones.

But he thought he did pretty well, and Liz seemed to have really liked it, so he went down to work that morning feeling pretty confident that he was actually kind of maybe crushing this whole Loving Husband and Father thing pretty damn well.

Rosa was on the phones that Monday, which was, of course, clearly her favorite way to spend a Monday.

"Uh-huh," she said. "So you had some wool? ....yes, sir....yes, sir....three bags full? And, just so we're clear, this is actual wool, and not just some euphemism for some kind of hot new designer street drug? Uh-huh.....yeah. Yeah, we'll see if it's anything. We'll keep in touch."

Something about it all sounded pretty familiar to Rosa, though, as she hung up, frowning, thinking about it, running it through her head, and then she turned immediately to her computer and started looking into any instances of notorious wool-running cartels she might have heard of before.

Monday: Covent Garden Flowers

Nell was here and in a rather good mood between thinking about plans for baseball night on Tuesday and her bees arriving on Wednesday. She'd cleaned her house to within an inch of its life yesterday, leaving her with only a few small things to do tonight and tomorrow.

The flowers were a bit boisterous today, the lilies catcalling the roses from across the way, but it seemed all in good fun, so Nell just kept an eye on them to make sure it didn't get out off hand. Hopefully she wouldn't come back from class to find petals everywhere.

The Devil's Nest, Monday evening

Well, Eric supposed it had only been a matter of time before Tiny was back on his bullshit. Today Eric came into the bar to find Tiny putting the finishing touches on a scale model of a prototype of a newly renovated Luke's made entirely out of cocktail hot dogs.

"I'm pretty sure Duke has already finalized his plans," Eric said when he could finally form a sentence that didn't include the words "what the tap dancing hell." "He probably doesn't need to see your, um, vision of his diner rendered in pork."

Tiny rumbled a response.

"Oh, you think the restaurant should be constructed out of hot dogs," Eric said.

Another rumble.

"Well, naturally, they should be kosher."

Eric was in his usual place, hitting the vodka slightly heavier than strictly necessary, and the Devil's Nest smelled a little like canned meat juice. Hopefully that would air out before Annie's shift on Thursday?

"Sorry I wasn't here last Monday," Steve said to Ralph as he breezed into the office, "Danny and I were making sure a nuclear bomb didn't detonate in downtown Waikiki."

Absolutely no one seemed impressed about that, but in their defense, they were all wearing helmets.

Looking slightly disappointed, Steve sat down at his desk and moved paperwork from his work are over to Danny's, as was traditional.

The Trooper Station was open and Steve was busy adding "saving Hawai'i" to his LinkedIn profile page. Please give him something better to do.

Mystery Sign Theater 3000, Monday

There were... so many bags of Cheetos at the movie theater today. In fact, upon closer examination, it turned out that was all the snacks they had on offer. All the -- everything, really. There was no candy, no drinks, just Cheetos in every nook and cranny of the concessions stand, practically spilling over the sides.

And a few more bags hanging off the marquee outside for good measure. Because:
